You will be part of an interdisciplinary team of fermentation scientists and engineers, automation engineers, software engineers, analytical chemists, and molecular biologists to rapidly develop microbial strains to produce high value natural product medicines. The Analytical Chemistry group is an integral part of the Demetrix team, providing the rest of the company with high quality data while maintaining and balancing accuracy, precision, and throughput. As part of the Analytical Chemistry group, you will help us with operations, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, and development of new methods while fostering an atmosphere of continued improvement and innovation.
- Operation of analytical instrumentation (worklist generation, instrumentation setup, data analysis) including LC-QQQ, RF-QQQ, LC-RI, LC-UV/Vis, and IC-CD
- Method development of new chromatographic assays and improvements of existing assays, depending on experience
- Preparation of standards and quality controls with high accuracy
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of instrument hardware
- Collaboratively work within and across groups to contribute to high functioning team efforts
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- BSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chem. Engineering, or a related discipline
- 1 year of industry experience with chromatography and/or mass spectrometry systems
- Excellent attention to detail with proactive problem-solving skills.
- Positive and enthusiastic team member.
- Effective planning, organization, and communication skills

Currently, we’re building a product pipeline of cannabinoids, the active compounds in the cannabis plant. Humans have been relying on cannabinoids for health and medicinal purposes for centuries.
Although there are more than 113 unique cannabinoids, very few have been studied. That’s because they are present in such low quantities in the plant.
