Descartes Labs is looking for a talented and driven Solutions Manager to join us as a member of the rapidly growing Customer Success Team. You should have a passion for creating client value, cutting edge technology and the world of big data. Descartes Labs is building the geospatial data platform of the future that enables world class analysis at global scale. In this position, you’ll work with our internal data science team to build cutting edge solutions for business users across many industries. You’ll be an advocate for our technology and help transform the way our customers utilize geospatial data in their companies.

Roles and Responsibilities

    • Independently manage client projects from scoping to delivery
    • Provide clear, timely, thorough, and professional communications to clients around project updates, timeline and final delivery
    • Coordinate with our internal data science team to create a project plan and other collateral
    • Effectively manage multiple projects with different clients at one time
    • Identify new product opportunities and effectively communicate prioritized requirements back to the Product team to help inform our strategy and roadmap
    • Intimately understand customer needs and requirements on the projects that you manage and be responsible for successful project outcomes
    • Be laser-focused on customer value to ensure effective usage and adoption of our Solutions
    • Uncover new potential opportunities to expand upon the projects that you manage
    • Be quantitative; let the data guide and course correct your efforts
    • Coordinate with members of the sales team to aid in the sales process
    • Be independent; pitch in when needed but not asked for
    • Model a culture of customer orientation and success among our cross-functional project teams
    • Recommend, develop, and implement processes to support continuous improvement in our team operations

Requirements

    • 4+ years business experience (consulting, strategy, analyst or similar)
    • Experience managing complex projects with explicit deadlines
    • Ability to understand customer need and translate that to the project team
    • Success working independently and with little oversight
    • Project management experience
    • Detail oriented, able to manage a portfolio of projects, customers and tasks at a given time
    • Results driven, able to adapt to unforeseen challenges to achieve successful outcomes
    • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills
    • Strong presence, interpersonal skills, and written communications skills
    • Strong listening and presentation skills
    • Ability to quickly grasp and translate technical concepts and details
    • Professional experience in Commodity Markets (Trading or Analysis) or the Agricultural industry is a plus
