Descartes Labs is looking for a talented and aggressive Senior Sales Executive to join us as a member of the rapidly growing Sales Team. This position will be based in Manhattan. It offers the opportunity to help build and drive the sales organization around an incredible product that is breaking ground in the analytics market with a truly unmatched capability to synthesize satellite data and ready it for analysis. You will work in concert with the executive team to implement Descartes Labs go-to- market strategy while you build business and expand the current customer base. As Account Executive you will report to the Co-founder and Head of BD/Sales. In this role, you will coordinate with other departments such as product, marketing, and engineering to produce and refine compelling sales strategies. It is then up to you to bring the Descartes capabilities to target accounts and assist them in building and selling the business case. Roles and Responsibilities

    • Target, create and communicate the Descartes Labs’ value proposition to enterprise, finance and insurance customers
    • Close new business selling Descartes Labs product across industries especially Financial Services, Energy, Commodities and Agribusiness
    • Adopt, implement and deploy Descartes Lab’s CRM software
    • Be quantitative; let the data guide and course correct your efforts
    • Develop and cultivate relationships with key customers and market influencers
    • Collaborate with other members of the sales team to win new business and expand business with existing customers
    • Be independent; pitch in when needed but not asked for
    • Source new sales opportunities
    • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
    • Intimately understand customer needs and requirements
    • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas


    • 5 - 8 years experience as an Account Executive preferably in the Data Science/Analytics space
    • Ability to understand customer need and translate a business case into a sales proposition
    • Familiarity with software development tools preferable
    • Experience working with the sales team and sales infrastructure of a start-up
    • Success working independently and as part of a team to aggressively target, develop and close new business
    • Experience selling with partners and channel providers
    • United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States
    • Strong presence and written communications skills
    • Strong listening and presentation skills
    • Experience in managing volume - including ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
