We are excited to add an experienced Business Development Manager of Professional Distribution to our growing team. In this role, you will manage independent distributors to support and grow the DevaCurl brand in the US.

Who you are:

    • Understanding of curly hair and the competitive landscape
    • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
    • Experience managing a spending budget
    • Ability to influence and interact with account merchant teams as well as senior management and across Sales, Marketing and Operations 
    • Experience driving sales within a salon environment
    • High level of perspective, as well as curiosity about industry trends and how to apply to current business
    • Ability to accurately forecast purchases across various business structures (b&m, .com), including evaluating weeks of stock, sell through and promotional impact
    • Strong presentation skills; able to adapt to audiences as needed
    • Possess exceptional time management skills to meet multiple overlapping project deadlines head on without supervision
    • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
    • Experience leading marketing and merchandising initiatives within the salon environment
    • Ability to bring to life an omni-channel strategy leveraging all our assets to drive commercial outcomes with the salon environment
    • Proficient with Slack, Microsoft Office Suite, and Zoom. Excellent/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • BA or BS Degree
    • 5+ years of key account management experience preferably in Beauty wholesale/retail environment
    • Post-COVID, must be willing to travel up to 50% of time

What you'll do:

    • Manage all aspects of DevaCurl business within multiple distributors with the ongoing priority of achieving quarterly/annual purchase and sales budgets
    • Develop account-specific joint business plans with merchandising and street/store teams to drive growth and turnover
    • Drive sell-in and planning meetings with account buying teams
    • Analyze monthly sales-out performance and conduct regular business reviews to report to Senior Leadership and internal cross-functional partners 
    • Develop business strategies and drive opportunities within the salon landscape ensuring sales growth to meet performance goals
    • Forecast ongoing flow and promotional inventory to ensure timely revenue recognition against financial plans 
    • Partner with DevaCurl Trade Marketing and Account Purchasing Teams to drive marketing/merchandising strategies for maximum shopper awareness and trial
    • Analyze sales data for insights to influence promotional ideas, drive sales out, and optimize POG productivity
    • Proactively brainstorm and develop 360-degree programs that drive sell-in of new launches and sell through at the customer level
    • Provide continuous partnership across internal and external cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of account-specific plans
    • Being the point of contact to develop strategic relationships with retail partners and serve as key account expert for day-to-day activities for internal cross functional teams
    • Engaging with store educator sales force and internal education teams to meet retailer needs
    • Implement programs to move the Independent Distributor and salon business into the digital space.
    • Managing spending budgets for account with an emphasis on ROI
