About the Role As a Product Specialist at Dexterity, you'll play a critical role in bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world customer applications. Partnering closely with our sales and business development teams, you’ll work directly with customers and product manufacturers to uncover needs, propose tailored solutions, and drive product adoption in Dexterity’s technologies. This role is as much about technical acumen as it is about relationship building—helping customers succeed by becoming their trusted advisor and automation expert.
You'll lead product demonstrations, guide application testing and qualification, and support marketing efforts through events, webinars, and content creation to raise awareness of Dexterity’s offerings. With up to 30% travel throughout the United States, you'll have the opportunity to work hands-on with customers in a variety of environments, using your automation, programming, and communication skills to solve real problems and deliver value.

Key Responsibilities
- Support sales through our account and business developer sales teams.
- Work together with our customers and our sales force to discern exactly what their needs are and how we can best equip them for success.
- Develop direct customer relationships with our sales team and product manufacturers.
- Manage our sales relationship with Dexterity’s customers and meet sales and business development quotas.
- A Flexible travel schedule is necessary for this role with travel up to 30% within the United States.
- Raise Dexterity Awareness: Introducing Dexterity technology to customers throughout the United States and Globally if needed.
- Account Evaluation: Understand account potential, competition, and business issues
- Application Discovery: Identifying the key application that allows for the development of customer trust and differentiation for Dexterity.
- Product Evaluations: Work with key individuals to formalize the process for evaluating Dexterity product solutions. Application test, qualification, demonstration, and installation are common phases of the sales process.
- Product Demonstrations: These demos can and will take place at all stages of the sales process.
- Promotions Development: Identify methods for continuously updating the customer of Dexterity's latest products, technologies, solutions, service, successes, and capabilities. This may occur through Direct Mail, Webinars, Workshops, Marketing Opportunities (such as producing video content for marketing campaigns) and/or Lunch & Learns.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or background in automation, software, electronics, optics, or a related field.
- A background in connectivity, safety items, sensor fundamentals, and industrial networks.
- A minimum of two (2) years sales or customer service experience in a technical field.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills, solid business, technical, and application-solving aptitude, sales presentation skills.
- Must have the ability to manage consistently to a common plan, providing field sales leadership in the implementation of corporate sales strategies.
- General understanding of any programming language goes a long way.
- Experience with Java, C++, basic script, MATLAB, Python, etc. can act as a solid base in understanding industrial networks.
- Other software utilization includes Microsoft Office and VISIO.
$100,000 - $130,000 a year
Base pay is one element of our Total Rewards package which may also include comprehensive benefits and equity etc., depending on eligibility. The annual base salary range for this position is from $100,000 to $130,000. The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as years of relevant experience, skills, education etc. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
