How you'll make a difference:

    • Lead mechanical design team on various healthcare sector projects of various scope and scale from pre-design through construction completion
    • Represent the mechanical engineering practice in related business development, within local and national venues
    • Work within a multi-disciplinary team of architects, interior designers, structural engineers, electrical engineers and trade partners to create truly integrated and sustainable design solutions
    • Monitor project revenue and expenses against plan
    • Assemble work plans for the projects to determine resourcing needs
    • Consult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals, and present engineering reports and findings
    • Coach, mentor, and oversee the development of junior team members and direct reports

Who you are:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) is required
    • Awareness and focus on patient care/safety and the environment
    • Fulsome knowledge in Canadian Standards for HVAC, Plumbing, Medical Gases and Fire Protection System design
    • LEED accreditation is considered an asset 
    • Working knowledge of BIM software (REVIT) is an asset
    • 10+ years of experience with HVAC, plumbing and drainage, fire protection systems, heating and cooling, mechanical control and automation systems for healthcare and institutional buildings and demonstrated green design experience.  Strong understanding and experience with schematic design, design development, detailed design calculations, contract administration 
    • Effective leadership and business development skills
    • Energetic, engaged, demonstrates initiative  
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and various deadlines  
$125,000 - $165,000 a year
