Location/Office Setup: NY, NY — Hybrid (3 days in-office)

Who We Are:
At Digital Matter, we’re a smart, fast, and nimble next-gen consulting firm built for today’s challenges. Our team is made up of media, retail, and technology experts who’ve built and executed, not just advised - people who’ve run companies, navigated real transformations, and know what it takes to deliver results. We’re all about helping consumer brands unlock growth and navigate transformation, using media as a true business asset—powered by data and future-ready tech.

Our mission is simple: treat media as an asset class and use innovative technology to accelerate meaningful growth and transformation for our clients.

We’ve helped multiple organizations go public, and we’ve guided clients through everything from bankruptcy turnarounds to successful exits.

About the Role:
As an Engagement Manager in our Consulting vertical, you will play a key role in tackling complex business challenges, working in small, high-performing teams to deliver data-driven insights and strategic recommendations. You’ll engage directly with clients, helping break down ambiguous problems, analyze key drivers, and synthesize findings into clear, actionable solutions.

In this role, you will contribute across the full engagement lifecycle – from structuring analytical approaches to crafting client-ready deliverables. With an independent mindset and drive to deliver results, you will also collaborate cross-functionally with our Integrated Media and Product teams.

What You’ll Do:
Own day-to-day client workstreams. You are responsible for communicating directly with the client, capturing feedback, keeping deliverables on track, and ensuring expectations are aligned at every step. You will write and share the agendas, lead the meetings, and follow up with clear next steps.

Translate broad client goals into clear scopes of work. You will break down ambiguous or high-level client asks into a structured plan, defining what needs to be delivered, who is responsible for each part, what data is required, and how success will be measured.

Manage multiple live workstreams across clients simultaneously. You are expected to balance competing timelines and priorities, ensuring all work progresses without sacrificing quality. You must be able to context-switch efficiently and keep each client’s needs, strategy, and goals top of mind.

Lead analysts or junior team members to support execution. You will delegate discrete components of work, provide clear direction, and review deliverables for quality. You are also expected to influence internal teammates and external clients by building trust through sound logic, timely communication, and proactive collaboration.

Conduct analysis and develop insights using real-time client data. You will use media performance reports, customer data, channel budgets, and 3rd party benchmarks to answer questions involving growth drivers, spend allocation, and strategic decisions based on data.

Build all client-facing deliverables. You will be responsible for independently drafting decks that are clean, visually compelling, and insightful. You will also build and own Excel models (e.g., forecasting, customer impact, media efficiency) that are functional, intuitive, and error-free.

Present recommendations to clients and defend your thinking. You must be able to walk senior stakeholders through your approach, show them what you built, explain how you got there, and respond to objections with reasoning and data.

Own implementation follow-through. You’ll work with Digital Matter internal teams (Media, Product) and the client to ensure your recommendations are applied, measured, and adjusted as needed.

Contribute to team learning and capability-building. You are expected to share what you learn and deliver, whether it’s a smarter AI-powered forecasting method, agentic acceleration, new data visualization technique, or a failed test others can avoid. This includes documentation, templates, presentations, or informal coaching.

What You’ll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, analytics, or economics is preferred. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
• 3+ years of work experience in a fast-paced consulting environment with a distinctive record of leading teams and achieving impact.
• Demonstrated ability to structure and solve complex, ambiguous business problems with a strong command of data analysis and quantitative methods.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities, including the capability to influence C-suite stakeholders and confidently lead problem-solving discussions.
• Experience in evaluating and designing processes that enhance management strategy across key functional areas such as marketing, sales, general management, and finance.
• Proven track record of managing projects in high-growth, high-performance environments.
• Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, startup-style environment with a hands-on and collaborative mindset.
• Preferred: Experience working at or directly advising Consumer-facing companies, with subject-matter expertise in retail, marketing, and integrated media.
$160,000 - $230,000 a year
