A capable and hands-on Manager - Finance to lead and oversee our accounting operations across billing, supplier payments, cashflow forecasting, and team workflow. You will supervise a capable team of three accounting/admin staff plus our part-time Operations Manager, instilling structure, consistency, and accountability across all finance and operational processes.
Ideal for someone who enjoys steering a capable team, ensuring process integrity, and fine-tuning operational oversight while able to conduct day-to-day transactional work where required.

Responsibilities:

    • You will report to the Managing Director and own the accuracy and timeliness of customer invoicing, receipting, supplier payments, and revenue/costs forecasting. Your primary focus will be reconciling monthly forecasted sales and costs versus actual results, driving alignment between operations and financial reporting, and ensuring complete, accurate, and timely financial information flows into our business management systems.

    • Our banking and cash flow processes are already tightly managed; we’re looking for someone to take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations and keep everything running smoothly — from reconciling monthly planned forecasts to actual activity and aligning our internal processes and systems.

    • You will work collaboratively with our experienced administration team, Managing Director, and senior external Accountant at KPMG, who will provide technical support when required. You will also personally prepare our monthly payroll in Xero as part of your responsibilities.

    • Enhance Financial Accuracy and Forecasting:
    • Deliver precise, real-time visibility across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and operational cash flow forecasting to support business decision-making.
    • Establish Process Excellence:
    • Design, implement, and maintain streamlined accounting processes, ensuring consistency, compliance, and scalability across customer billing, supplier payments, and cash management.
    • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Guide and mentor the accounts/admin team to operate with clear roles, priorities, and accountability, building a cohesive, high-performing operational unit.
    • Improve Operational Efficiency:
    • Collaborate with the Managing Director and Operations Manager to align operational workflows with financial objectives, identifying and eliminating inefficiencies.
    • Strengthen Governance and Risk Management:
    • Work closely with KPMG and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with all financial controls, reporting standards, and audit readiness requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • Experience:
    • A proven track record as a Manager - Finance or senior financial leader in a high-growth, complex business environment.
    • Experience managing financial operations across diverse industries and business units.
    • Exceptional skills in strategic planning, financial modelling, and risk management.
    • A collaborative leader capable of managing large, multi-location teams, geographically dispersed.

    • Technical Skills / Tools – Essential:
    • Xero – deep knowledge of invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting functions (or similar accounting package experience).
    • Microsoft Excel – strong skills in formulas, reconciliation sheets, cashflow modelling, and variance analysis.
    • Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Calendar) – for deadline management, task coordination, and document control.
    • Banking Portals – comfortable reviewing and reconciling daily bank activity.
    • Email Communication – clear, professional written communication for suppliers, clients, and team management.

    • Technical Skills / Tools – Desirable:
    • Power BI or Excel Pivot Tables – for internal dashboards, reporting, or KPI tracking.
    • CRM/ERP Integration Experience – ability to work alongside CRM or ops systems where billing or usage-based triggers occur.
    • Cloud document management (SharePoint, OneDrive) – for process documentation and SOP management.

    • Financial information is reliably prepared and available to support leadership in decision-making and reporting
