Electrical Foreman - Grand Rapids, MI
DISHER is partnering with a leading electrical contractor in Grand Rapids, MI, providing electrical construction services across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, food processing, and senior living markets since 1969. The Foreman Electrician will play a crucial role in supervising electrical installations, supervising crew members, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all applicable codes.

What you'll get to do:

    • Supervise and lead a team of electricians to meet productivity objectives
    • Provide direction, training, and support to crew members

    • Organize and coordinate project materials, tools, and equipment
    • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
    • Ensure all work performed complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), as well as federal, state, county, and local regulations
    • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues proactively
    • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components, utilizing test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct issues efficiently
    • Effectively communicate with general contractors, project managers, and crew members
    • Complete and submit daily forms and reports, including progress updates, material usage, and any issues encountered during the day
    • Ensure that all necessary construction documents, specifications, and submittals are reviewed and understood by the team

What will make you successful:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician license
    • 5 years of electrical experience, with proven expertise in managing teams and overseeing electrical projects
    • OSHA 10-hour safety certification and CPR/First Aid certification
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents, including MEP drawings, architectural plans, wiring diagrams, and schematics
    • Ability to occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds, and work in tight or confined spaces
    • Ability to install feeder and branch conduit and wiring such as: EMT, IMC, Rigid, PVC, PVC Coated Rigid – bend, cut and thread – all sizes and types
    • Ability to troubleshoot electrical components such as transformers, motors, panels, and circuits
    • Ability to install electrical systems such as switch gears, motor control centers, electrical panels, fire alarm, conveyor, lighting, and power systems
    • Ability to install electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters or voltmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
    • Ability to read blueprints including: MEP drawings and specs, architectural drawing and specs (including front ends), schematics, plan details, wiring diagrams and submittals
