Heavy Machine R&M Technician – Grand Rapids and Wyoming, Michigan

DISHER is partnering with a metals, paper, and plastics recycling company to fill their Heavy Machine R&M Technician position. In this role, you will play a role in maintaining, repairing, and enhancing the mechanical systems and equipment essential to our recycling operations. What you'll get to do:

    • Maintain R&M workload
    • Work alongside and support other Technicians
    • Manage work within CMMS R&M workorder system
    • Maintain shop organization and tools
    • Report to Heavy Equipment Repair & Maintenance Manager and make suggestions to improvements

What will make you successful:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial mechanics or a related field is preferred
    • Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of equipment including but not limited to: Sennebogen Material Handlers, Wheel Loaders, #5k forklifts (propane), Excavator (Volvo 500), Mobile Shear (Genesis 995), Industrial Horizontal American Baler, 53' Dry Van Trailers (100), Semi Tractors, Hydraulic Systems, Welding and fabricating, Electric Controls 
    • Proficiency in welding, fabrication, hydraulics, and controls systems
    • Familiarity with dry van trailer and semi-tractor maintenance is a plus
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
    • Commitment to safety protocols and regulations
