At Divergent, we are committed to innovation and excellence in additive manufacturing. We are looking for a Senior Manager, Additive Maintenance and Reliability to lead our team of service specialists in maintaining our advanced fleet of Multi-Laser Powder Bed Fusion printers. This role is critical to the success of our Production team, including managing day-to-day operations, driving improvements to machine reliability, and ensuring world-class system availability.
 
Key Responsibilities:
•Leadership and Team Development: Lead the additive production machine maintenance and service team, fostering a culture of growth, trust, and technical excellence. Motivate and develop team members to reach their full potential while ensuring a high level of performance and team cohesion.
•Operational Excellence: Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance team, implementing processes to ensure optimal machine performance and reliability. Develop and execute an advanced service and parts program, leveraging data, automation and analytics to build systems that scale.
•Strategic Planning: Develop strategies and roadmaps to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and continuous improvement in maintenance practices. Support introduction of prototype machines and maturation to production at scale. 
•Technical Expertise: Maintain high availability and functionality of additive manufacturing systems through rapid troubleshooting, deep understanding of machine failure modes, and utilization of modern predictive analytics for preventative and corrective maintenance.
•Quality and Innovation: Implement onboarding, training and qualification programs to build technical competence. Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues affecting machine repeatability and reliability.
 
Required Qualifications:
•Proven leadership in a fast-paced operational or industrial manufacturing environment.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
•Growth mindset with demonstrated ability to drive change.
•Direct experience troubleshooting and maintaining operational equipment in several of the following areas:
oPower Lasers and Optics
oIndustrial Automation and Control
oIndustrial Refrigeration
oPneumatic Compression and Actuation
oMetallic Powder Handling
oAnalog and Digital Electronics
oPower Electronics
•Excellent problem-solving and understanding of engineering fundamentals.  
•Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
•Bachelor of Science in a STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience operating and servicing PBF metal printers.  
•Previous experience in technology startups and mature production environments.
•Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance, Reliability-Centered Maintenance, or similar.
    



$149,220 - $216,360 a year
