SUMMARY
We are a global, multidisciplinary research, analytics and data consultancy part of Edelman, the world’s leading PR agency. We use data and intelligence to help businesses and organizations build trusting relationships with people: making communications more authentic, engagement more exciting and connections more meaningful.
 
To support our APAC business, we have set up a center of excellence (CoE) based on the model of insourcing projects to a central, professional hub with the objective of building an optimal team of researchers that can support the DXI shared resources model.
 
All DXI’s Interns will build the foundational skills that can further them in a career in data analysis, public relations, or marketing measurement. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work within our dynamic data and intelligence team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the wider Edelman teams and be directly involved in high-profile client’s PR communications projects, consisting of a wide range of primary and secondary research.
    • Primary research efforts will include:
    • Support the planning, coordination and execution of assigned research projects, including questionnaire preparation, fieldwork set up, data collection, analysis plan, insights generation and report writing.
    • Liaise with internal teams and counterparts to ensure projects run smoothly on time and within budget.
    • Manage project co-ordination – independently or with support, depending on size and complexity of projects.
    • Support research design and data collection, guide and manage production of research reports.
    • Prepare reports (including charting and data interpretation) and Support report writing (insights and commentary)

    • Secondary research efforts will include:
    • Manage media monitoring projects on ad-hoc and continuous basis.
    • On a tight timeline, search a combination of free and subscription-based databases to identify and consolidate media content that is relevant to specific clients and projects.
    • Prioritize and organize media content into monitoring reports using both third-party and proprietary software.
    • Analyze news and social media coverage for metrics, such as tone (favorability), influencers, spokespeople, messages communicated, outlet type, and topic.
    • Assist project teams with general desk research.
    • Assist with the set up and configuration of our proprietary online media monitoring tool for clients. (Training provided)

REQUIREMENTS

    • Candidate must be available for at least 2-3 working days per week during term time.
    • Bachelor’s degree in or pursuing communications, marketing, business, psychology, economics, social sciences, mathematics and statistics or related area of study.
    • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research and analysis is highly preferred
    • Ability to learn and master new concepts quickly
    • Demonstrated ability to use online tools to perform online desk research
    • Excellent reading, writing, editing, and data interpretation skills
    • Excellent spoken and written English is a must, fluency in mandarin is a plus
    • Great interpersonal communication skills; articulates ideas clearly and professionally, both in person, in writing, and over the phone
    • Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure; able to consistently meet deadlines on reports and projects
