Edelman is looking for a motivated, earned-media-focused Account Supervisor for one of Edelman’s most exciting and largest accounts. This is a unique opportunity to work on a team delivering award-winning and industry-leading work, supporting our Earned media team as we identify opportunities and tell stories with a focus on the automotive category. This is a fast-paced account with tons of opportunities for growth and an incredible teamwork-oriented culture.

Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to creation of integrated communications plans that meet client objectives, specifically leaning into media relations expertise with a goal of driving widespread earned media coverage
    • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence 
    • Build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels
    • Consistently produce high-quality internal and external communications content 
    • Effectively manage relationships with key media contacts and other external partners, including partner agencies, vendors, influencers, and more
    • Develop and lead traditional earned media strategies and programs
    • Supervise staff junior to you by motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback 
    • Commit to continuous learning; set and pursue stretch goals 
    • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct

Basic Qualifications:

    • At least 4 years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including advertising, management consulting, brand strategy, media, and publishing.  
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience and expertise in the automotive industry.
    • Ability to develop communications plans, implement communications tactics, and impart knowledge to more junior team members
    • Intricate level of understanding of the account(s), the client’s businesses, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, opposition, etc.
    • Excellent writing skills for materials such as press releases, key messaging, pitches, and more
    • A knack for trendspotting and staying up-to-speed on the various factors impacting our client’s business and priorities.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals
    • Fundamental understanding of media relations and the ability to apply experience and initiative in developing appropriate traditional and online media strategies
    • Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills, along with the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
    • Affinity for storytelling and an ability to generate creative ideas, take risks, and think big
    • Interest in social justice/sustainability issues is a plus
$67,000 - $94,000 a year
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
