The Role
We’re looking for a smart, media-hungry Account Executive, with a passion for technology, to work on some of the world’s largest and well-known technology brands.
 
As an Account Executive in the team you will contribute to daily client account work, managing small projects and contributing to larger projects as directed by project leaders. You may also have the opportunity to supervise the work of more junior team members. The role will see you supporting the client in the execution of communications marketing activities including stakeholder outreach/management, media relations, content development, research, social media campaigns, event coordination, etc. 
 
Our ideal candidate will be able to apply knowledge to solve problems independently and their agility will set them up for success in a fast-paced environment where they will need to adapt to new assignments and deadlines continually.
 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Drive proactive media relations day-to-day: Be able to identify relevant target media for clients news and stories. For certain clients, the role will involve managing a reviews programme for highly competitive product range. You should also develop and maintain strong relationships with influential media on the client’s behalf,  proactively identifying media opportunities for the client in national and broadcast media, as well as technology trades
    • Coach and motivate AAEs they manage on day-to-day business. Ensure junior team members build strong relationships with clients and colleagues through professional and social networking opportunities. You should demonstrate solid experience in writing, edit and proofreading materials including press releases, media pitches, fact sheets and client correspondence. It’s important to be able to use your initiative to get tasks done and work independently, but know when to ask for help
    • Become the category/competitive expert: Provide clients reports that include analysis of PR programmes, indicators of future coverage and competitor analysis. Track and analyse monthly coverage from PR efforts and develop clear and concise written analysis on insights, best practice and solutions to continually improve results 

Brand and business building:

    • Understand how the business is run, and your role within it.  
    • Participate in the new business process, including research, audits, preparation of proposals and support for new business pitches. Participate in brainstorms. 
    • Identify and engage in networking opportunities, making the most of your university or professional networks, becoming an ambassador for Edelman. 
    • Follow news relevant to target industries and flag potential opportunities for account growth. 
    • You’ll be a good motivator of junior team members who both report into and work alongside you, be able to effectively drive calls with clients and provide strong media counsel. Your writing will be of a high quality standard and attention to detail will be a key strength.

      This role is ideal for a candidate who wants to accelerate their career working with leading technology brands, working within a team at Edelman that is constantly looking at ways to raise the bar for our clients.

      Previous experience working in PR or marketing communications, or relevant academic degree or volunteer experience. Experience working as part of a team and desire to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience developing written communications materials.  Experience in research and reporting using online, media and social databases and tools.
