Edelman is searching for an EVP, Digital Advisory, who will serve as a senior consultant to executive-level clients. You are a leader who leverages design thinking and analytical rigor to identify innovative solutions to a broad range of marketing and business challenges.  

Often, this means helping leaders prepare for and embrace change in a digital environment; focusing on how shifts in culture, technology, consumer behavior and internal and external business dynamics impact go-to-market strategy, resource allocation, and overall marketing communications strategy. 

In this role, you will work autonomously or in collaboration with market research, data science, financial consulting, public relations, and other disciplines to help our clients answer a wide range of marketing questions like: “How do we transition into a ‘digital-first’ organization?” “How should we reinvent our digital [shopping/fundraising/customer] experience?” “How can we improve our org design and information flow to act faster?” “How do we optimize our Amazon presence?” “How can new technologies (e.g. AI) help us drive revenue or retain customers?” 

The output of this work is a functional foundation for bold ideas—ideas that we can qualify, credential, and pilot immediately. That might include a product positioning strategy, a pivot from traditional advertising to more digital-first methods or partnership opportunities, designing the business-logic behind a membership or rewards program, or helping clients develop the right in-house competencies or measurement methods to land on better ideas over time.

    • Operates as a strategic consultant across a range of sectors

    • Builds Digital Advisory team culture and fosters environment for collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship 
    • Develops talent through coaching, mentoring and career pathing 
    • Continually maps talent and manages succession planning to ensure continuity of bench strength 

Responsibilities (Project Leadership & Oversight)

    • Analyzes client business/marketing problems and provides strategic counsel on solutions
    • Develops research plans to address strategic questions, identifying the right mix of methods, using cost and time-effective tools and trusted partners to uncover valuable insights 
    • Designs integrated go-to-market strategies for new products or services; including sound choices about goals (i.e. forecast estimates), how to allocate resources against various channels and milestones to achieve those goals, and providing clear direction to agencies or client partners to effectively execute a cohesive vision 
    • Presents thoughtful strategies to all relevant stakeholders, including C-suite or heads of business, where the goal is to provide paths forward and sound counsel on the relative risks and benefits of a given strategy (rather than “selling” a perfect idea)

Qualifications

    • 12+ years of relevant experience in strategic planning, brand strategy, or business intelligence either with client-side or strategic consultant agency experience  
    • Ability to prioritize and solve complex problems while making decisions with an entrepreneurial mindset 
    • Experience directing consumer research – and turning quant/qual research into clean, simple customer need states or pain points  
    • Clear thinker who can distill information down to actionable ideas 
    • Record of leadership, strategy development and expertise in client management as well as expertise in a singular communications discipline 
    • Experience building trust among executive leadership in large-scale global organizations 
    • Experienced in influencing, managing and developing large diverse teams 
    • Ability to acquire as well as grow business, and advance internal initiatives 
    • Experience in leading large ($1M+) accounts 
    • Leadership, management, and communication skills, with superb written and oral communication 
    • Collaborative, proactive, and results
