Edelman Canada is searching for a detail-oriented, proactive Junior Project Manager/Resource Manager to join our team. This dual-function role sits at the centre of the business and plays a critical part of how our clients experience Edelman, how our teams integrate to deliver brilliant work, and how our agency functions, evolves and grows every day.

Responsibilities include… 

Project Management:

    • Edelman Junior Project Managers will apply day-to-day project management, financial management and team facilitation skills to the delivery of projects, while demonstrating an understanding client business goals. They support senior Project Managers to track project deliverables that connect with creative intent, while meeting time specifications and achieve quality standards. 

    • Develop business acumen by assisting in defining scopes and building estimates in partnership with Senior Project Managers or Project Directors, account leads and specialty teams.
    • Track the development and approvals of Statements of Work with Finance, Contracts and Account teams.
    • Use project management tools to author and maintain project schedules, project briefs, cost estimates, budgets and other relevant project documentation with input from team members and oversight from a Senior Project Manager or Project Director.
    • Support the delivery of larger projects and/or own smaller projects with oversight.
    • Anticipate the needs of your projects, resolving project issues and removing barriers to success for the team.
    • With oversight from the Senior Project Manager or Project Director, pull and report on project burn, identify and flag scope creep, and participate in the monthly forecasting process.
    • Proactively communicate and manage hours, tasks and timelines with integrated team members in order to successfully keep work moving forward within established time and budget constraints.
    • Schedule and attend internal meetings, communicate next steps, and assign ownership of tasks; attend client meetings to understand client feedback, next steps and project implications.
    • Partner with Resource Management to manage staff plans and project future staffing requirements in established resource management tool.
    • Oversee, manage and communicate the status of deliverables across multiple integrated workstreams.
    • Ensure the quality and consistency across all projects is consistent with brand guidelines.
    • Collaborate with account and specialty teams to ensure successful delivery against client assignment and scoped deliverables.
    • Balance a sense of urgency with calm and confidence at all times.

Resource Management:

    • Edelman Junior Resource Managers are organized, proactive individuals who will not be intimidated by a fast-paced environment, tight deadlines and multi-tasking. Their demeanor invites partnership and trust, and they have a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality and good judgment. They have exceptional communication skills, and are comfortable escalating or following up with stakeholders when requests get roadblocked. Spending a solid portion of their day managing data is interesting to them, and they’re eager to learn and grow by partnering with the broader Resource Management team

    • Closely manages staff allocation inputs to resource management tool (RMSS), leveraging staffing plans and other inputs from project managers and account leads, keeping data up-to-date ongoing
    • Support with weekly utilization reporting across all specialty pools
    • Close monitoring of resource fulfillment to ensure resourced staff are onboarded in a timely manner
    • Support with ad-hoc data pulls (allocations, utilization) to support in team management
    • Prepare team allocation data for quarterly resourcing sessions and monthly reviews
    • Stay up-to-date on team resourcing to support with identifying potential staffing gaps and a need to rebalance team members’ workloads
    • Prepare various monthly reports for finance
    • Maintenance of internal skillset database, to ensure colleagues are supporting on work that is the right fit and provides growth opportunities
    • Provides administrative support to the resource management team where appropriate, including ongoing updates to processes and liaison with Global partners 
    • Partners with other Resource Managers across the Edelman network globally and coordinates resource sharing when needed 

About Your Background:

    • A 4-year degree or equivalent work experience 
    • 3-4 years of project management, integrated marketing/PR in an agency environment, resource management or other related experience 
    • Strong passion for and demonstrated knowledge in project management and integrated programming 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and Smartsheet (or other similar project management tool) is required 
    • Experience with a Resource Management tool is preferred
