About the Settlements Product
The Settlements product at dLocal is at the core of our value proposition: ensuring that merchants receive their funds quickly, accurately, and transparently, regardless of currency or geography.
The product manages the end-to-end process of transferring available merchant funds to their bank accounts, supporting multiple settlement models, currencies, and regulatory requirements. It is critical for merchant trust, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance, and is continuously evolving to support new business models, instant payments, and automation at scale.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of dLocal’s Settlements product. You will own the full lifecycle of settlements—from fund availability, to withdrawal automation, reconciliation, and merchant reporting. This role sits at the intersection of product innovation, financial operations, and regulatory compliance, requiring close collaboration with engineering, treasury, finance, compliance, and merchant-facing teams.
What will I be doing?
- Define and drive Settlements' product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning with company goals and merchant needs.
- Own the end-to-end settlement experience: from real-time balance calculation to withdrawal requests, fund transfers, and settlement reporting.
- Partner with engineering to deliver scalable, reliable, and automated settlement flows, supporting multiple currencies, settlement models, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Treasury and Finance to automate settlement operations, reduce manual intervention, and ensure accurate, timely fund disbursement.
- Work with Compliance to ensure settlement processes meet local and cross-border regulatory standards, including reporting and safeguarding requirements.
- Engage with merchant-facing teams to understand pain points, gather feedback, and deliver clear, actionable settlement reporting and dashboards.
- Monitor and analyze settlement performance metrics (e.g., settlement speed, error rates, reconciliation gaps), driving continuous improvement.
- Lead migration initiatives to new balance and settlement systems, ensuring minimal merchant disruption and clear communication.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies impacting settlements in emerging markets.
What skills do I need?
- 5+ years of product management experience in payments, fintech, or financial operations.
- Experience in settlements, fund movements (cross-border, local, FX), treasury, or reconciliation is a plus.
- Experience designing and delivering automated, scalable products.
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with large datasets to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with engineering, treasury, finance, and compliance.
- Proven ability to prioritize and deliver high-impact product changes in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear requirements and merchant-facing documentation.
- Fluency in English is required; Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
