What’s the opportunity? 
We're looking for a QA Lead to establish and drive a centralized QA function within our Cloud Platform department. You will be instrumental in defining, testing strategies, quality standards, and engineering excellence practices that will be adopted across all development teams at dLocal.

This is initially a hands-on leadership role designed for someone who is as comfortable designing and creating custom test frameworks and tools as they are building culture and cross-team collaboration. You’ll work closely with SREs, Security, and Developer Experience teams to ensure that every layer of our platform is tested, observable, and trusted.


What will I be doing?

    • Build and lead a centralized QA team focused on driving platform-wide quality practices and capabilities.
    • Redefine and monitor key quality KPIs, including, but not limited to Change Failure Rate (CFR), Escaped Defect Rate, and Deployment Validation Time.
    • Own, maintain and develop our E2E test case management tools.
    • Design, develop, and maintain custom test frameworks, reusable tooling, and test automation pipelines.
    • Influence cross-team quality practices by driving adoption of shared tools, code standards, and documentation.
    • Support incident reviews and reliability assessments with a quality-first mindset.
    • Influence a culture of accountability, observability, and resilience through test coverage and continuous verification.
    • Recruit, manage, mentor and inspire a high-impact QA Team.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our QA practices remain cutting-edge.

What skills do I need?

    • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Engineering roles, with at least 2 in a technical or people leadership position.
    • Strong background in testing distributed systems, cloud-native applications, or platform tools.
    • Proficiency with automated testing frameworks on multiple languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or similar).
    • Experience integrating quality into DevOps and SRE practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab, Prometheus, Grafana, Alerts).
    • Metrics-driven mindset – measure before build.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills – you’ll influence and support engineers across multiple verticals, including the development of your teammates.
    • Comfortable working in fast-paced, globally distributed environments.
    • Fluent English is a must.

    • You will stand out if you have:
    • Cloud experience, especially AWS and EKS (Kubernetes) based workloads.
    • Performance monitoring experience, particularly in large-scale distributed environments.
