Overview 
Here at the OraSure family of companies our innovative sampling tools, services and diagnostics unlock access to accurate, essential information that advances global health and well-being. Our products include molecular sampling kits for the genome and microbiome, cutting-edge services and analytics, rapid diagnostics for infectious disease, and tests for substance abuse.  

Responsible for Environmental, Health and Safety program management as applicable for OraSure Technologies, Inc. sites as assigned by the EHS Manager. 

Snapshot of responsibilities

    • Perform building safety inspections with the help of EHS software throughout OraSure. Report safety issues to the EHS Manager.
    • A key leader of the OraSure Technologies, Inc.’s Employee Safety Committee. Assists the EHS Manager with minutes and follow up from meetings.
    • Helps administer safety programs such as the PPE program, respiratory protection program, Lock out Tag out program and other safety programs as directed by OSHA.
    • Assists in the development of environmental and safety training programs as needed using safety designed software and management.
    • Under the direction of the EHS Manager, conduct safety walks and training as needed with department personnel on all shifts at all buildings.
    • Assists implementation of the Emergency Response activities, including employee training and drills.
    • Support the EHS Manager with OraSure Technologies, Inc’s corporate insurance program.
    • Support the EHS Manager with OraSure Technologies, Inc’s security program.
    • Support the EHS Manager with OraSure Technologies, Inc’s waste stream compliance with governing oversight including but not limited to the EPA.

What you bring

    • Ability to view video display terminal images for extended periods of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
    • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Ability to lift, tug, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
    • Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.
    • Associates Degree in an engineering, environmental science or science related discipline (chemistry, biology, or medical technology.
    • Demonstrated experience in the cGMP Manufacturing environment
    • Demonstrated experience in Environmental Health and Safety roles, or at minimum Facility Management roles
    • Demonstrated advanced computer skills - Microsoft Office, Excel, Project. Use of AutoCad is a plus.
    • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to conduct verbal presentations.
    • Ability to use various software applications for the development of more enhanced auditing programs and training programs
