Overview 
DNA Genotek products are marketed worldwide and support thousands of customers as they achieve breakthroughs in genomic and microbiome research, in diagnostics laboratories, in the pharmaceutical industry, in companion animal genomics and in personalized medicine.  

Commercial Account Managers are experienced sales representatives at DNA Genotek who develop and manage a territory with the goal of maximizing sales. They comprehend and utilize product features and benefits accompanied with selling skills to identify and qualify leads, initiate the sales process and successfully promote and close sales of Company products to achieve or exceed the assigned territory sales plan.

Snapshot of Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate the entire sales process for assigned accounts. Demonstrate excellent communication and selling skills using various platforms including but not limited to phone, email, conferencing applications, messaging applications, professional social networks, and in-person meetings. Demonstrate ability to connect with customers, build relationships, ask informative questions, provide solutions, set expectations, and close deals.
    • Achieve or exceed the territory sales plan by maintaining existing businesses, developing incremental business in existing accounts, and conducting lead generation to create new customers.
    • Be responsible for high revenue opportunities representing a large market share of overall sales.
    • Use discretion and qualifying questions during lead verification to determine the validity of interested parties.
    • Work closely with Regulatory Affairs to monitor user compliance for in vitro diagnostic testing purposes.
    • Work closely with Finance when a customer’s credit history is required.
    • Maintain strong communication with Sales Operations and Sales Development teammates. Demonstrate leadership in decision making for inbound activities and order execution.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of account engagements using the Company’s customer relationship management software.
    • Utilize multiple data sources to analyze and develop sales opportunities. Communicate key competitive activities, market trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities.
    • Develop product knowledge sufficient to successfully conduct an effective sales presentation and ongoing sales engagement.
    • Have thorough knowledge of DNA Genotek’s customization workflow and be the single point of contact for customization and services discussions.
    • Be involved with corporate Communications opportunities including but not limited to, joint press releases and marketing blogs.
    • Have experience working with sales supply agreements.
    • Possible travel, approximately 20% of working calendar.
    • Other duties deemed appropriate for a Commercial Account Manager.

What You Bring:

    • Bachelor degree or college degree in the sciences or related field.
    • 2+ years previous direct sales experience, with phone or in-person sales in the life sciences, diagnostics, medical device or related industries required.
    • Experience with lead generation an asset.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts and influence potential buyers, both in person and over the phone.
    • Demonstrated tenacity, drive, and eagerness to succeed in sales as part of a dynamic team in a high growth environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations and re-organize priorities.
    • Excellent organizational skills to manage the sales process across multiple account engagements.
    • Ability to travel up to 20% of time.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $63,000 to $108,000 CAD. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for our Sales Compensation Plan. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for the position, based on our defined salary pay ranges. Our ranges are broad to account for differences in roles, performance, experience, skillsets, education and business needs and individual pay is determined by a variety of factors. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package, as noted below.
