Overview

Our products include molecular sampling kits for the genome and microbiome, cutting-edge services and analytics, rapid diagnostics for infectious disease, and tests for substance abuse.  

The Vice President, Product Management (PM) and Project Management Office (PMO) will play a critical role in driving growth within OraSure as part of the Product Office. This role will define and lead the development and execution of the product roadmap for the sample management and diagnostic portfolios. Through a team of professionals, the Head of PM will work to identify and quantify market opportunities, develop and vet product concepts and lead efforts to develop and commercialize the products. The Vice President will also work to establish and execute appropriate life cycle management plans including evolution of claims, COGS reduction programs, pricing analysis and line rationalization efforts. This role will work closely with the cross functional leadership team in the execution of these responsibilities. This role will ensure that business projects are executed effectively and efficiently. This role will operate in a player/coach model and may have direct responsibility for a specific product line, in addition to the oversight of the team. It is expected that the leader of this group will participate actively in corporate initiatives around mentorship, belonging and communication.

Please note, this is a hybrid position and can be based out of either our Bethlehem, PA or Ottawa, Canada, locations.


Snapshot of Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to the delivery of annual revenue and profit targets through development of growth strategies and solid execution
    • Define the near- and long-term vision for the segments; translate into actionable business plans. 
    • Execute annual business plans and achieve annual business goals, both financial and strategic
    • Develop an innovation roadmap meeting market needs across all segments 
    • Working closely with the sales leadership, assess, evaluate and support the most appropriate distribution channels, geographies and market segments
    • Develop, acquire and retain the talent needed to execute the strategic plan and deliver value
    • Working closely with partner functions, including Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory, ensure continuity of supply, customer satisfaction and achievement of all quality standards
    • Working closely with Business Development, Strategic Alliances and internal strategy and innovation teams, identify, evaluate and acquire strategic assets 
    • Work with quality, regulatory and other functions to continue to evolve organizational processes to achieve greater efficiency and speed
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key business partners that will enable the company to achieve its business and strategic objectives.
    • Participate, as directed by the CPO, in corporate wide initiatives including internal task forces, cultural initiatives, sustainability initiatives and others
    • Work closely with the Sr Director of Marketing in development of strategic marketing plans and execution of the growth strategies
    • Lead the Project Management Office, including establishing a PMO governance and operating model while ensuring strategic alignment of projects to corporate objectives
    • Travel as required for internal business, external partner and industry meetings

Reporting To This Role:

    • Various Directors and Senior Directors leading Product Management for critical lines of business
    • Leaders of the Project Management Teams supporting our businesses

What You Bring:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business or the Sciences is required.
    • Advanced degree in the Sciences, an MBA or equivalent business experience required
    • Significant experience (15+ years) in leading global product management, strategy, innovation, and/or strategic business planning in the diagnostics field, preferably with profit/loss accountability. All relevant experience will be considered.
    • Experience working in highly matrixed, complex organization with aggressive goals and timelines
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with customers, government agencies, and all levels of team
    • Strong technical knowledge and ability to interact with scientific community, customers, research partners 
    • Proven skills and senior level management experience in technical product management in a related field
    • Executive level operational experience including execution and achievement of annual plans and P&L ownership
    • Experience driving new product innovation from concept development to launch, in research and commercial markets
    • Expert-level knowledge of project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes and approaches
    • Team/talent development and leadership
    • Public company mindset with an affinity and appreciation for entrepreneurial culture
    • Executive level reporting and communication skills
    • Global experience
    • Experience in identifying acquisition targets and integrating them

Travel Requirements:

    • Travel throughout the U.S. and Internationally
