Team Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and growing team as part of Dun & Bradstreet’s ITSM Transformation initiative. This initiative aims to transform IT Service Management through the delivery of a standard global operating model & Enterprise platform supported by a single data model, automation, and a simplified and integrated end-user experience. The Enterprise Platform Team partners closely with ITSM Practice and Service Owners to ensure ServiceNow is optimally configured to support global processes and provides maximum value to the Enterprise.
 
The Role:
The ServiceNow CMDB & Discovery Manager is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Director of Service Management Platforms. You will be responsible for managing and maintain the CMDB and ITOM Discovery, according to established platform governance and standard operating procedures. This role requires strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and someone who is a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. As a ServiceNow CMDB & Discovery Manager and Dun & Bradstreet, you will be working in a fast-paced environment and delivering solutions that transform the way we work.

Key Responsibilities

    • Configures, schedules and monitors discovery runs
    • Monitors MID server health and deploys additional MID servers as required
    • Reconciles discovery issues, errors and escalates as necessary
    • Performs discovery remediation against known inventory sources
    • Coordinates with other platform teams (server, windows, linux, networking, security, virtualization, storage, cloud, third parties, etc.) for initial discovery setup and remediation activities
    • Manages the discovery dashboard and reports discovery health status to stakeholders
    • Responsible for working with CI Owners, CMDB Application Advocates to ensure CMDB completeness and accuracy
    • Manages the CMDB Health dashboard and reports health status to stakeholders
    • Provides CI assistance for ITSM processes
    • Provides CMDB reports for audit and compliance purposes
    • Enforces the governance surrounding CI creation, updates and data certification
    • Participates in CMDB education & evangelism activities

Key Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent professional experience
    • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification highly desired
    • 2+ years of ServiceNow administration experience in an enterprise environment
    • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow’s CMDB and ITOM Discovery capabilities
    • Proven and verifiable history of analyzing business situations and working within a group environment to provide efficient and effective software solutions
    • Strong working knowledge of how the CMDB informs other ServiceNow ITSM components such as Service Catalog, Change/Incident/Problem Management, Asset Management, Release Management, etc.
    • Excellent knowledge of ServiceNow Best Practices and ongoing knowledge of latest ServiceNow features
    • Must be adaptable to work in a varied, fast paced, exciting, ever-changing environment
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with business partners
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues utilizing native capabilities and without unnecessary customizations
