We are currently seeking a Data Acquisition Manager to join our Global Data Acquisition Team. 

The Data Acquisition Manager will act as the main point of contact & manage our Critical Vendor Relationships & Related Processes, such as: new market research, sourcing data, qualifying relationships, testing new data vendors, managing test contracts, helping draft SLAs for custom data sets, helping draft new contracts, helping with backfill of compliance and project managing larger data strategies.

The Data Acquisition Manager will also be experienced & comfortable working in Contracts and with language edits to ensure use cases that require this data are being met through contract components and their negotiation of the deal.

The Data Acquisition Manager is expected to qualify prospects, create new relationships, manage existing relationships, make & own critical contract decisions and be the point of contact for several of D&B’s important accounts.

Additionally, this team member will become a subject matter expert and strategic data domain owner across multiple data sets.  They look beyond the horizon to identify new issues and to position the organization to address emerging trends in their domain. Compares findings to industry standards; identifies how the organization’s data is serving each business driver and which areas are missing out on domain data insights. Maintains a broad, strategic perspective while identifying and focusing on crucial details.

Using their knowledge to help craft vendor direction and strategy to acquire the best valued data sets.  They will work with different departments to ensure this data is accessible and available to different teams who need it.

This role is based in our Jacksonville, FL Headquarters.

Role Activities Include:

    • Business Development Activities Include:
    • Conduct extensive market research to identify relevant data sources across different data set types, such as: B2B, Consumer Data, Identity, Technographics etc...
    • Prospect & lead meetings with data vendors.
    • Execute Test contracts & retrieve testing deliverables.
    • Negotiate new Contracts &, create custom SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
    • Manage renewals to achieve the best terms & best valued deal possible.
    • Stay updated with emerging data trends, regulations, and reporting frameworks.

    • Managing Relationship Activities Include:
    • Maintain favorable client relationships.
    • Point of Contact for Critical Vendors both internal and externally facing.
    • Submit Vendors against our Data Compliance Processes
    • Identify new business opportunities within existing relationships.

    • Strategic Data Domain Owner Activities Include:
    • Provide strategic advice in the implementation of the organization’s data domain sourcing strategy.
    • Ensure that all socioeconomic, political, and legislative requirements are considered in the development and implementation of the organization’s data domain sourcing strategy.
    • Develop data domain quality policies, standards, and metrics to meet the most impactful business needs.
    • Set the strategic direction for monitoring the quality of data in their domain.

Essential Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for individual cost savings & data growth targets through expanding existing relationships.
    • Responsible for identifying new opportunities to match data with client needs.
    • Manage proposals, timelines and deliverables from proposal through implementation in conjunction with internal teams.
    • Evaluate proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.
    • Contribute to improving our capabilities by enhancing existing processes.
    • Proactively connect with relationships and make sure to manage our most critical vendors with extra care.
    • Have excellent technical curiosity, fast innovative thinking skills with ability to drive complex issue management.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate with key internal stakeholder teams such as Product, Data Managers, Finance & Business Development.
    • Ability to manage multiple client initiatives at different phases of the testing, contracting and renewing to ensure a successful launch and relationship moving forward.
    • Continuously review data and identify trends while summarizing findings.
    • Help iterate reporting and processes to provide better insight and faster results.
    • Support business development ad hoc data requests.

Experience and Competencies

    • Bachelor’s degree & 8-12 years of experience in project management, technical operations, technical account management or Advanced Customer Support with data relationships. Master’s degree requires 6 years of the above relevant experience.
    • Strong contract & negotiation experience.
    • Excellent communication skills both spoken and in writing to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong excel skills with attention to detail and comfort with accuracy with numbers.
    • The ideal candidate is a motivated self-learner, passionate about problem solving and dedicated to both our products’ success, as well as our relationships’ success.
    • The ideal candidate will have a continuous improvement mind-set.
    • Nice to have: Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
    • Nice to have: Someone with experience with B2B Data and CRM industry.
