The Data Engineer I works as part of an agile team, setting global standards and best practices while working with key stakeholders to implement, monitor and control Data Quality Rules on the Global Data Supply Chain.
The Data Engineer I is a key member of a Data Operations team that ensures consistency and control across Data Incident and Data Change Management.
The Data Engineer I drives best-in-class standards and continuous improvement initiatives across a wide range of teams/disciplines.
The focus of the Data Engineer I will be to help data, which is published by local Data Operations teams, travel through the global supply chain in a manner that is monitored and controlled by D&B’s standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop business requirements by working with key stakeholders and effectively communicate technical requirements to implementation teams.
- Work under an ITSM framework, manage, communicate and implement incident and change management tickets.
- Develop, control, and maintain Data Quality Rules that can be implemented on Global platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and develop validation and verification procedures to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Develop and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and data lineage.
Skills and/or Certifications
- Strong knowledge of data transformation processes, exposure to standard and complex datatypes.
- SQL and Python skills required, Big Query experience preferred. Experience using these languages to evaluate data quality, accuracy and completeness is preferred.
- Experience building data ingestion and analysis processes on large data sets.
- Knowledge of Data Operations methodology and data management approaches is preferred.
- Knowledge of Service Now and/or Jira is an advantage.
- Additional beneficial experience/skills – Graph database technology, AWS/GCP, NoSQL, SQL Server administration, R, machine learning, web technologies, data mapping from multiple data sources.
- Google Cloud certification a plus.
- Experience in managing stakeholders and project plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a technology-related field, with 2+ years of work experience.
- Master Degree - Preferred
