The Democratic National Committee seeks an experienced grassroots fundraiser who will work on the Donor Cultivation team and manage the DNC's monthly giving program to build sustainable, ongoing support for the DNC. The Sustaining Donor Manager will report to the Donor Cultivation Director and be responsible for working with the offline and online grassroots fundraising teams to develop strategies to promote monthly giving, track and provide reports on the program, and develop and manage the cultivation and retention efforts needed to meet annual budget objectives.

Responsibilities:

    • Retain and grow the DNC’s monthly donor program over ads, email, SMS, direct mail, telemarketing, and peer to peer.
    • Develop strategies to recruit and upgrade monthly donors; 
    • Track and report revenue and trends in the monthly donor program on a monthly basis; 
    • Create and implement a retention strategy to minimize attrition through active follow-up, building relationships with monthly donors, and monitoring automated credit card recovery;
    • Work with outside vendors to manage sustainer premium fulfillment and coordinate recovery efforts for declined monthly donors;
    • Develop and manage relationships with new and existing monthly donors;
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for sustaining donors;
    • Collaborating with the online and offline mobilization fundraising teams to ensure the monthly giving program is part of a cohesive fundraising effort;
    • Work with the donor cultivation director to ensure donor benefits, such as store early access and discounts, email and mail updates, donor premiums, DNC support for questions and requests, are offered throughout the year.
    • Collaborate with the donor cultivation coordinator and donor cultivation assistant on cross-team projects, program tracking, recruitment and cultivation strategy implementation, and more.   
    • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission.

About You: Qualifications

    • Three or more years of political fundraising experience with direct marketing, email, SMS, peer-to-peer, or ads; experience in monthly giving preferred;
    • Experience using data analytics to drive fundraising strategy and tracking results/trends of campaigns/programs;
    • Ideal candidate will be a team player, fast learner, and self-starter; you are willing to work hard to get the job done;
    • Have the ability to work independently and on a team; the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work and communicate effectively with donors, staff, and vendors.
    • You must be in D.C. or be willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area.
The starting salary for the Sustaining Donor Manager position is $65,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. 

This is a full-time, exempt position that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024.  This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
