About This Opportunity:
The Motion Designer at Docebo will be responsible for creating dynamic, visually compelling motion content that brings our brand to life and supports our marketing, product, and sales initiatives. This role will lead the development of animated assets from concept to final delivery, transforming complex ideas into engaging visual stories. Motion content may be used across web, social media, or video formats, depending on the message and audience.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of how to visually represent UI and UX elements of a software product, effectively showcasing interface behaviours, user flows, and product functionality through motion. This is a role for a creative problem-solver with strong design sensibilities, technical animation expertise, and a deep understanding of how to communicate through motion in a way that aligns with Docebo’s brand and resonates with our target audiences. Experience with video editing is a plus, as this role may occasionally support or contribute to post-production for live-action or hybrid content.
To succeed in this role, you are not content with the status quo. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical expertise, and strong project management skills. You should be comfortable working independently, as well as collaborating with various teams across the organization. Attention to detail, the ability to tell compelling stories through motion, and an understanding of how to tailor dynamic content for different platforms will be essential. A passion for creating content that drives engagement and supports business goals will help you thrive in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Motion Design & Animation: Create high-quality motion graphics that clearly communicate product concepts, brand stories, and campaign messaging across web, social, and video formats.
- Concept Development: Translate strategic and creative briefs into compelling motion assets from initial concept and storyboarding to animation and final delivery.
- UI/UX Visualization: Design animations that accurately represent software UI and UX, effectively communicating user flows, product features, and functionality.
- Creative Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including brand, marketing, and product to understand goals and ensure motion content aligns with business objectives and brand standards.
- Platform Optimization: Adapt animations to suit various distribution channels (e.g., website, social media, events, internal communications) while maintaining consistency and performance.
- Visual Storytelling: Apply design thinking and storytelling principles to ensure animations are both visually engaging and strategically effective.
- Project Ownership: Manage multiple animation projects at once, prioritizing deadlines and feedback cycles to deliver polished, on-brand assets.
- Video Editing: Support or contribute to video post-production (e.g., editing, motion overlays) for live-action or hybrid content, as needed.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in motion design, animation, or video production, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of dynamic, brand-aligned motion graphics across formats (e.g., social, web, product, marketing).
- Proficiency in motion design and animation tools such as After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Illustrator; experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar 3D tools is a plus.
- Familiar with leading AI animation and motion graphics platforms, including Runway ML, Pika Labs, Adobe Firefly Video, or similar tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of animation principles, visual storytelling, and pacing across different formats and screen sizes.
- Experience collaborating with creative and marketing teams to concept and produce motion assets that support brand and campaign objectives.
- Comfortable working with a mix of assets, from footage to illustrations, type, UI, and product renders, to bring static designs to life.
- Understanding of platform-specific best practices for motion content (e.g., YouTube, LinkedIn, websites).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines while maintaining attention to detail and creative quality.
- A degree in Motion Design, Animation, Visual Communication, or a related field is a plus.
