Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
The selected candidate will lead the Science and Engineering Organization within HRL’s Intelligent Systems Laboratory (ISL).
Essential Duties:
•Responsible for the effective oversight of ISL’s line managers and their departments, which together include all the scientists and engineers supporting ISL’s various programs and projects.
•Support line managers in employee development by providing performance feedback, growth opportunities, and mentoring
•Ensure recruiting is done effectively so help ISL maintain a world-class scientific and engineering staff
•Ensure the Science and Engineering organization provides effective support to ISL’s programs and projects
•Ensure effective project management and execution for ISL projects and programs
•Support the development and effective implementation of ISL’s organizational and business strategy
Required Skills:
•10+ years supporting science/engineering programs
•5+ years’ management experience in a science/engineering organization
•Experience managing projects with government customers
•Excellent people management and leadership skills
•Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
•Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
•Strong collaboration skills
•Strong skills at relationship building within and across organizations
Required Education:
•A Bachelor’s Degree in a science or engineering discipline.
Special Requirements:
•U.S. citizenship
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance; active TS/SCI is preferred
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $182,000 - $304,000 + bonus + benefits.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
