Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art. 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
As a DevOps/DevSecOps engineer, you'll be focused on maintaining reliable systems for testing and delivery of HRL's quantum software. (You will not be directly responsible for developing the software or its tests.) 

Specifically, you will be responsible for:
* Monitoring the status of CI/CD infrastructure on open and air-gapped networks.
* Building and maintaining infrastructure for synchronizing software between open and air-gapped networks.
* Working closely with developers and IT staff to ensure continued reliability of integration and deployment infrastructure.
* Tracking and vetting software dependencies.
* Looking for and implementing improvements to DevSecOps practices.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
**Experience with CI/CD infrastructure.** We use GitLab to manage both source code and test runners. We use JFrog Artifactory to manage release artifacts.

**Experience with various kinds of virtualization.** From virtual environments to containers, we are using several virtualization technologies in our stack. You should be able to use Docker to build images, run and monitor containers, and employ them in CI/CD environments. You should have a basic understanding Python virtual environments and a willingness to develop expertise in Python packaging.

**Experience with Windows, MacOS, and Linux and their quirks.** We target a variety of platforms at HRL. You don't need to be an expert, but you should have experience using each of them.

**Solid programming skills.** You should be able to confidently work in bash and Python, and operate with a variety of configuration formats such as JSON and YAML. We also value ability with other programming languages, especially C++ or Lisp, and a willingness to learn.

** Solid communication skills. ** You will need to be able to document software development processes and adapt your style to various audiences.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. citizenship; active security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $104,000 - $174,000 + bonus + benefits.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
