Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
The Human Resource Operations Manager position manages all HR operations and is directly responsible for employee experience, employee relations and HR operations matters. The HR Operations Manager leads all HR activities in compliance with policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards set forth by all applicable agencies or regulating bodies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
•Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new HR team members
•Oversees the daily workflow of the department
•Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
•Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
•Serves as escalation in any ER/LR cases
Essential Duties:
•Provides day-to-day direction in all aspects of Human Resources, including management of HR Business Partners and HR Generalists
•Assumes corporate responsibility for development and maintenance of company guidelines, policies, processes and procedures
•Serves as the designated expert on the interpretation of Human Resource policy issues
•Assists with the development and implementation of HRs programs.
•Ensure employee engagement initiatives are being managed and actions are being implemented
•Supports the key strategic objectives, inclusive of engagement initiatives, and respective employee communications
•Develops and/or manages special projects on an assigned basis to enhance employee communications, training, benefits knowledge and the awareness of corporate policies, procedures and guiding principles
•Support HR programs to drive inclusion and increased teamwork with an established workforce
•Manages and supports employee relations and investigation activities
•Provides proactive support and advice across the full spectrum of employee and labor relations
•Handles often complex disciplinary and grievances processes, ensuring full compliance to policy and legislation and a maintaining a consistent approach
•Manages all items related to Labor Relations including, administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), General Wage Increases, Annual Wage Increases, etc.
•Assists managers with performance management and career development to ensure the highest potential from employees
•Oversees all onboarding and off boarding processes
•Partners with Talent Acquisition team to ensure candidate and new hire experience is best in class
•Maintains current knowledge of state and federal compliance regulation
•Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:
•BS/BA in human resources, business administration or other business-related field or an equivalent amount of experience and training
•At least ten years of human resource experience
•At least three years human resource leadership experience
•SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred
Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
•Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
