Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas, Westlake Village and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art. 

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll work with other members of the DevOps team and Quantum Software development teams to facilitate reliable delivery of software in support of scientific research to meet stakeholder needs. You'll be focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable systems and infrastructure for testing, integrating, and deploying software. You will work closely with IT staff to address issues and develop efficient solutions to software development problems. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering.

Due to working with air-gapped networks and the sensitivity of the information you will be handling, this position is on-site, not remote. Further, you will need to be able to obtain a US Government security clearance.

Essential Duties:
•Monitoring and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure on open and air-gapped networks.
•Building and maintaining infrastructure for securely transferring software between open and air-gapped networks.
•Identifying and implementing improvements to DevOps practices.
•Writing and maintaining documentation of software development infrastructure, systems, and processes.
•Tracking, vetting, and updating software development dependencies.
•Working closely with developers and IT staff to ensure continued reliability of integration and deployment infrastructure.
•Contributing to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) efforts, automation, and administration of DevOps infrastructure.
•Participating in Agile team activities.

Required Skills: 
•5+ years of experience in Software Development including 2 or more in infrastructure, such as release management, virtualization, packaging, build systems, DevOps, etc.
•Solid programming skills, preferably Python.
•Expertise with CI/CD infrastructure; preferably GitLab.
•Solid scripting skills; Bash or PowerShell.
•Expertise with Git, the commonly used distributed version control system.
•Problem-solving and troubleshooting.
•Understanding of commonly used operating systems, i.e., Windows, MacOS, and Linux, and their quirks.
•Agility. Quantum Software is a dynamic environment. You should be able to embrace change and iterative problem solving.
•Communication and collaborative orientation.

Required Education: 
B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or commensurate experience.

Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required. This position is on-site.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $145,745 - $186,688 + bonus + benefits.
