Vision Systems Lab is a division of HRL located in Camarillo focusing on taking imaging technology to market. It is composed of scientists and engineers with expertise in circuit design, advanced packaging, novel signal processing, and integration & characterization of highly complex systems. VSL is looking for a Deputy Director to lead the R&D growth for new product development.

Essential Duties:
Responsible for engaging with the business and develop a technology roadmap for EOIR sensor products. This includes much of the product ideation, customer engagement, and seeding of research opportunities to execute the road map. This is primarily a technical role with the emphasis supporting new business and products. This role further relies on a strong partnership with the other deputy role in R&D to ensure the vital business process are met and the metrics accurately reflect progress and quality. There is director line management responsibility for managing a subset of functional areas within R&D. 
•Conducting market research and customer engagement staying up to date on industry trends, state of the art developments, and application needs.
•Shaping and identifying new technologies, features, and product opportunities.
•Developing and managing people, tools, and equipment over the functions of circuit design, electronics, and camera processing to align with the capability required to execute the technology and product roadmap. 
•Overseeing day to day execution and operations, optimize, and implement R&D workflows that ensure quality and efficient interfaces within the organization
•Key business process includes, Program Development Plan, Problem Reporting, Change Control, Technology/Product Roadmap, Resource Management, 

Required Skills:
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Expertise in sensor design with a component circuit emphasis.
•Ability to balance strategic, creative and flexible approaches while promoting a culture of detail-oriented discipline of focus and accuracy.
•Strong sense of accountability and ownership
•Can-do approach to troubleshooting and strong problem-solving skills.
•10+ years of experience in semi-conductor component R&D.
•Experience with change management, leading and building high performing teams.

Required Education:
Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field, such as electrical engineering, science, or mathematics

Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship is required

Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $182,720 - $234,168 + bonus + benefits.
