RF Application Engineer Intern

Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
Contribute technical expertise and work within a focused team that designs, fabricates, integrates and tests RF and millimeter wave subsystems. Work closely with scientists and engineers to provide support in developing state of the art RF subsystems for communication, radar and sensing applications. Additional job functions include solving customer problems, writing invention disclosures, publishing papers, briefing customers, participating in proposal activities and assisting in marketing HRL expertise.
Some experience with modeling and simulating electronic components, RF electronics and circuit is desired. Experience with different families of FPGAs, DSPs, or microcontrollers is desired.
A working familiarity with MATLAB and Python.
Understanding of basic circuit theory, electromagnetics, and digital signal processing. Familiarity with RF and high speed digital test equipment.
Simulink experience, and working knowledge of RF components communication and radar systems is a plus.
Applicant must be able to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, customers, operate complex electronic equipment, perform detailed analyses of integrated circuits, and prepare written and oral presentations. Ability to work well in a team and independently. Must be willing to travel and work in a team of highly skilled engineers on complex projects, and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Coursework in DSP, circuits, electromagnetics, and/or basic C programming.
The pay range for this position is $22 - $35 per hour.
