Product Manager (Growth)

Product – Product /

2021 was an amazing year for Doppler. So far we have helped over 15,000 startups and enterprises manage their secrets at scale, more than tripled our team size, 14x our revenue, and raised a round from CRV, Google Ventures and Sequoia. We just raised our $20M Series A and are getting far more ambitious by setting even higher product, growth, sales, and headcount goals.

Doppler's mission is to make it easy and secure for developers of every experience level and teams of any size to manage their app configuration and secrets. But hasn't this been done?

Developers tend to be either struggling with the manual management of .env files, or wrestling with an overly complex secrets manager that's not built for software development. Doppler is changing that by making app configuration and secrets management easy, intuitive, and scalable. It's the SecretOps platform built by developers for developers.

Our team is entrepreneurial, with a bias for action. We never back down from a spirited debate and believe we are all responsible for exploring the hard questions. We value self-awareness and meaningful impact. We are open to unconventional approaches and have learned not to judge a book by its cover. Your time is your most valuable resource, so you set your hours. We use Slack to communicate and default to zero meetings. We aim to document everything. We also recommend you invest your time in 10% compounding time.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for our second Product Manager to help us scale to the next 100k users. You’ll be responsible for making our Day 1 experience best-in-class. You’ll ensure we’re putting data to use in the right places - and acting on proven intuition in others. We expect you to make bets - some that will fail, and at least one that will lead to our next big thing. You possess a Product Led Growth mindset - you understand how our product investments will accelerate our ability to acquire and activate users, bolstering our self-serve flywheel.

A major part of this role is owning Universal Import, our secrets import button that lives in partners’ apps. We want to make the Universal Import button as ubiquitous as the tweet button, leading partners and users to a stronger security posture, while helping us accelerate self-serve growth.

In this role, you’ll

    • Aside from owning the experience, you’ll be tasked with building the initial relationships and playbook to help us scale out the process
    • Make a profound impact at an early stage but rapidly growing startup
    • Own the Doppler activation funnel beginning to end
    • Shape the future of the Doppler product organization
    • Guide Doppler’s experimentation process

What you bring to the table

    • 5+ years of B2B SaaS product experience
    • 2+ years in a growth role or similar
    • Excited to build bridges with other SaaS companies to help them understand the value of integrating with Doppler
    • Familiar with the developer space - tooling familiarity would be great, but adjacent SaaS products (i.e. Twilio, Stripe) work too
    • Eager to analyze data to identify bets we should make to improve conversion and grow our business

Bonus Points

    • Technical - you don’t need an engineering degree, but you are comfortable in the industry
    • At ease speaking with engineers - not just about secrets, but about infrastructure, encryption, authorization, and more. If you’re not familiar with a subject, you’re eager to learn
    • Experience at an early-stage startup - ideally working on conversion or activation
    • Excited about charting your own path. We will give you any tool you need, but we expect you to navigate the journey

We've built a great product our customers love. Our churn is low, and active usage continues to rise. We just need to amplify our reach to educate the market that secrets management can be fast, secure, and affordable for teams and organizations of any size. And most importantly, we need to continue encouraging Developers to stop adhering to archaic insecure standards such as manually managing .env file formats.

Are you passionate about developer-focused products and ready to join an amazing team? Then we want to hear from you!

A final note - we highly encourage you to apply for this role, even if you don't feel entirely qualified, or entirely sure. You never know!
