Here at Dott, we believe in a future where our cities are free from cars and pollution. With our on-demand e-bikes and e-scooters, we want to help co-create liveable cities where space is given back to people. We dream of cities where it is easy to move from one place to another with less congestion and more socialisation. All work we do is to continue reaching for our mission, to free our cities with clean rides for everyone.

Though founded in Europe, our passionate, mission-driven people come from over 55 countries globally. With such representative employees working in over 9 countries, we can better meet our users' diverse needs. We collaborate with each other, transportation providers, and city officials to ensure what we do today has a tangible impact on tomorrow.  Moreover, each employee is equally invested and accountable for making each decision socially and environmentally sustainable.

We’re looking for a Global Insurance Lead to join our Business Development team.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining our insurance programme supporting various business requirements (eg. rider’s personal accident and third-party liability, general liability, employer liability, D&O, freight, cybersecurity, etc). Day-to-day, you will ensure the right balance and trade-offs between commercial performance and insurance cover/limits whilst maintaining business compliance. Over time, you will support the design of innovative insurance plans.

This is an excellent opportunity for an insurance expert to join a fast-growing company and make an impact through an efficient and well-managed programme. This position can be based anywhere in Europe.

What you’ll do

    • Interact with brokers and insurance partners to maintain our insurance programme. Deploy procurement strategies to ensure optimal commercial performance whilst meeting all business requirements to stay compliant;
    • Build comprehensive data analytics on incidents and business exposure, and deploy recommendations to reduce the subsequent risk and insurance premiums;
    • Ensure that we reduce business exposure on claims that are not covered by insurance products. Ensure a strict monitoring of all claims and coordinate across the company to ensure claims resolution within expected SLAs;
    • Develop an insurance roadmap (eg. safety analytics, self-insurance) and collaborate with Legal, Product, Engineering, Development, and Business teams to ensure seamless execution.

What you’ll bring

    • Vision and strategy: you have 8 to 12 years of experience in the insurance space and can jungle with very different types of insurance products. You can establish a north star for our insurance programme while maintaining an agile mindset towards short-term business requirements. You can share and deploy that vision in a fast-paced environment;
    • Insurance expertise: You can challenge the business on required coverage and limits to find an optimal balance between performance and corporate risk/compliance; ideally you come from an Insurtech company and/or have an understanding of how to automate part of the processes between reporting and claims management. You will support the claims management, manage and owns the day-to-day business exposure and fully loaded cost of our combined insurance programmes.
    • Risk analysis: you can go deeper into the corporate risk assessment and share some risk analysis supported by data. This is to ensure we fine-tune and optimise our coverage over time. You can share those analyses with general managers and follow up with any recommendations made to reduce the business risk exposure;
    • Contract expertise: you can easily navigate between the commercial, technical, and legal aspects of an insurance product to facilitate the contractual closing;
    • Communication skills: you'll be working directly with public policy teams, legal counsels, and general managers. This requires an ability to communicate effectively on complex insurance topics and adjust your communication style.

What is our Employee Value Proposition (EVP):

We embrace change in our cities, our work, and ourselves. We empower each other to make a lasting impact. We spark meaningful connections by fostering a supportive community. We succeed by adapting the way we work. Unlock the Change
