Construction is the 2nd largest industry in the world (4x the size of SaaS!). But unlike software (with observability platforms such as AppDynamics and Datadog), construction teams lack automated feedback loops to help projects stay on schedule and on budget.  Without this observability, construction wastes a whopping $3T per year because glitches aren’t detected fast enough to recover.

Doxel AI exists to bring computer vision to construction, so the industry can deliver what society needs to thrive. From hospitals to data centers, from foreman to VPs of construction, teams use Doxel to make better decisions everyday. In fact, Doxel has contributed to the construction of the facilities that provide many of the products and services you use everyday.

We have classic computer vision, deep learning ML object detection, a low-latency 3D three.js web app, a complex data pipeline powering it all in the background. We’re building out new workflows, analytics dashboards, and forecasting engines.

We’re at an exciting stage of scale as we build upon our growing market momentum. Our software is trusted by Shell Oil, Genentech, HCA healthcare, Kaiser, Turner, Layton and several others. Join us in bringing AI to construction!

The Product Manager at Doxel

Buckle your seat belts. We ship value fast! And, our users (not always the most tech savvy) demand that our mobile and web apps are easy to use and immediately fit into their existing workflows. As a product manager with Doxel, your main job is to deliver value to customers as quickly as possible. You’ll directly own executing fast cycles of:
- Discovering user problems and needs by interviewing users on construction sites, participating in sales meetings, and listening to customer success.
- Narrowing in on solutions with the product design and engineering teams.
- Writing user stories and product requirement documents and leading your sprint pod of engineers in building and releasing features that meet customer needs.
- Communicating the value of what you built to sales, marketing, customer success, and customers themselves.

You’ll own executing this cycle quickly and effectively. If you do, you’ll be immediately rewarded with users that are thrilled that you’re making their construction projects (and, sometimes, their lives) better. Check out this video from Brandon, a superintendent who has now used Doxel on multiple projects. Your job is to create more delighted ‘Brandons.’

Other Responsibilities Include

    • Drive a customer-focused, agile, and fun approach to product development.
    • Run discovery and collaborate to develop product roadmaps.
    • Represent the customer in every decision we make.
    • Collaborate closely with engineering and quality assurance to prioritize features, bug fixes, and process improvements.
    • Write product specifications and user stories with clarity, precision, and speed.
    • Define product success, measure product success, and make data-informed decisions to improve products.

Characteristics to Thrive in this Role

    • 5+ years of experience as a product manager at an enterprise SaaS company.
    • 3+ years of experience working for a construction company (e.g., scheduler, project manager, field/project engineer, superintendent, etc.) or working on construction tech software for the field. Working in the field on large, complex construction projects in the U.S. is preferred. Knowledge of lean construction, CPM scheduling, short-interval (or pull) planning is a plus.
    • Entrepreneurial in spirit with a desire to work hard, operate at warp speed, and drive the pace of value delivery to its limits.
    • Business-minded with a history of leading the execution of software development projects that drive business results.
    • A history of owning the conception, development, and release of new features. 0 to 1.
    • Conviction in the ideal product development processes, and the flexibility to reduce processes to drive velocity.
    • You dig deep to make sure we’re solving root problems and ensure we’re thinking about processes and systems in scalable and maintainable ways.
    • No detail is too small, you are hands-on when needed, and you have a relentless drive to fit all of the small details into the big picture.
    • Strong communicator across different audiences and communication styles. Able to simplify tough problems and explain them to a non-technical audience. And, document solutions in a highly technical way to technical audiences.
    • Comfortable getting into deep technical discussions with engineers about the pros and cons of different approaches.
Curiosity

Just in your first year here at Doxel, you’ll learn from the collective experience of dozens more project teams.
