This Senior Accountant will take full ownership and responsibility for all general ledger transactions on a day-to-day and monthly basis.

Responsibilities

    • Prepare month-end journal entries and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
    • Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash usage
    • Prepare revenue recognition documentation and journal entries 
    • Review and post payroll journal entries
    • Support internal and external audit requirements related to specific assigned areas
    • Assist in internal control and process documentation
    • Perform special purpose or ad hoc analyses as required
    • Review vendor bills to be paid and G/L posting
    • Review employee reimbursements and G/L posting

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • 4+ years of relevant professional experience is required (combination of private and public experience preferred)
    • Excellent analytical, creative problem solving, organizational and project management skills
    • Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills
    • Takes initiative to implement changes that will simplify and improve processes
    • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
    • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Must have SAAS revenue recognition experience
    • Financial statement preparation
    • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
    • Hands-on experience with Quickbooks Online
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (such as: vlookups & conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, data visualization, what-if-analysis)
    • Accuracy and attention to detail
    • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously by prioritizing tasks
    • Willing to tackle challenges in a continuously changing environment
    • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
    • CPA firm experience with relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred
