Position Description
Position: Resident Assistant      
Reports To: Staff Housing/Human Resources Manager   
Department: Administration     

Position Summary:
Support Staff Housing Manager assisting in the arrangements for the arrival of the J-1 Visa employees and new hire/returning employees to Sand Valley residing in Staff Housing.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Assists residents with transition to Sand Valley staff housing.
·         Remains available to residents while on-call during the golf season.
·         Assists in supervising residents and responding to complaints, reports, requests and emergencies.
·         Submits reports on infractions, violations and safety issues.
·         Promotes and assists with staff housing events.
·         Informs residents about relevant campus and local activities.
·         Notifies the Staff Housing Manager of disagreements between residents.
·         Works with the Staff Housing Manager to coordinate monthly outings for all housing employees.
·         Maintain housekeeping supplies for Staff Housing Common Hall.
·         Ensure public areas are clean and tenants are keeping their living areas clean and tidy.
·         Follow check out procedures following employee’s end of employment and at the end of golf season.
·         Check tenant rooms for damage, burnt out light bulbs, dripping faucets, running toilets, etc.  Make report to Staff Housing Manager as necessary to accommodate repairs.
·         Keep Staff Housing Grounds and garbage areas clean.
·         Assist when the staff housing manager is absent.  This can include, giving keys to new tenants or unlocking rooms.
·         During the golf season arrange for staff trips to pick up groceries and personal supplies.
·         Enforces staff housing policies and guidelines.

·        Ability to respond to and assess urgent situations

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
·        High School Diploma/equivalent preferred.
·        Previous Resident Hall or Summer Camp advisor preferred.
·        Previous cleaning experience beneficial.
·        Demonstrates quality interpersonal communication skills.
·         Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
·         Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
