Position Description:
Position: IT Technician
Reports To: Director of IT
Department: Administration
 
Position Summary:
The IT Technician will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality.  Will assist in training users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure.
 
A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems to assist with technical support. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail to ensure optimal workstation performance. 
 
The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
·       Provides clerical and administrative support to the IT department.
·       Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
·       Set-up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.)
·       Assists staff with the installation, configuration and ongoing support of desktop computers, equipment, and software to ensure functionality.
·       Manages resort IT Helpdesk to document, prioritize, and track requests.
·       Responds to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or electronically. Identifies and escalates situations requiring urgent attention.
·       Troubleshoots and resolves issues associated with PCs, laptops, network, local servers, printers, remote access, and file shares.
·       Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems is maintained.
·       Becomes familiar with each department and their respective applications. Learns fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment.
·       Assist with scheduled upgrades and maintenance without deterring others form completing their work.
·       Assist in maintaining the resorts computer inventory for upgrade and replacement needs to optimize work efficiencies.
·       Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
·       High School Diploma or equivalent required.
·       Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field preferred Or Certification as an IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Professional.)
·       3-5 years of proven IT experience.
·       Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
·       Outstanding organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.  
·       Excellent communication ability in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication format.
·       Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision.
·       Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
