Your Role:
We are seeking an experienced VP - Ad Sales with 15+ years of experience in selling brand solutions and sponsorships across sports properties. This leader will play a critical role in driving revenue, growth, and client satisfaction, while shaping the future of advertising on FanCode. If you have deep-rooted relationships with advertisers, agencies, and brands, and can leverage them to open doors and initiate conversations, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive ad sales revenue by developing and executing innovative advertising solutions tailored to sports fans and brands, ensuring growth and client satisfaction.
- Leverage your strong network of advertisers, ad agencies, and brands to pitch, close, and manage high-impact deals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive ad sales strategy to meet and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue goals.
- Craft and sell integrated brand solutions across FanCode’s sports properties, aligning with team and player affinities.
- Provide leadership to the day-to-day Ad sales operations, ensuring high performance and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Manage sales reports, pipeline tracking, and revenue forecasting to align with organizational goals.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities by cold calling, conducting market research, and leading passive outreach efforts.
Must-Haves:
- 10+ years of experience in selling digital sports properties or media with a proven track record of managing client relationships, negotiating, and closing high-value deals.
- Deep understanding of the sports industry, with specific knowledge of what works (and what doesn’t) for different sports, and how to align team/player affinities with advertisers.
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets, develop client pipelines, and take ownership of the entire sales cycle.
- Strong understanding of digital media and advertising industry trends, with experience in media measurement and advertising technologies.
- Existing relationships with advertisers, brands, and agencies, with the ability to open doors and foster new connections.
- Tenacity and self-motivation to independently drive initiatives, innovate, and succeed in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Good to Haves:
- A deep passion for sports and familiarity with the sports content ecosystem.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, with particular proficiency in creating presentations and working with Excel.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth start-up environment.
