About the Role:
The Senior Navigation Engineer is responsible for leading technical solutions native to the navigation experience on IVI. You will work directly with product managers, designers, other engineers and external consultants in an integrated approach towards a unified product.

What You Will Do:

    • Work on the IVI core navigation experience: Design, implement, and improve map matching and collaborating with external parties.
    • Integrate 3rd-party map and traffic SDKs like Mapbox, Google Maps, etc.
    • Vehicle positioning: Work with GNSS hardware and drivers (GNSS HAL) including reviewing data sheets and analyzing logs.
    • Hardware setup, including basic electronic wiring on actual vehicles (2W + 4W).
    • Work with car drivers and bike riders to collect sample data and test the navigation experience.
    • Design and implement high-quality, maintainable, and test-driven code in Kotlin.
    • Reproduce, troubleshoot, and fix user issues.
    • Keep sharpening your skills.

What We Are Looking For:

    • 5+ years of experience inAndroid application development.
    • Experience building navigation and/or vehicle positioning solutions.
    • Deep understanding of the mobility industry.
    • Ability to understand technical documentation.
    • Strong sense of ownership of product features and quality.
    • Someone who thinks cars and motorcycles can be 1000x times better than they are today.
    • Valid Motorbike (preferable) or Car Driving License.

Nice to Have:

    • Business-level Japanese
    • Experience with Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
    • Experience with GNSS hardware and drivers.
    • Experience with Mapbox SDKs.
    • Experience with IoT or integration with embedded systems.
    • Experience with safety and process compliance standards (e.g A-SPICE, ISO/SAE 33000, ISO 26262)
    • Familiarity with Agile development environments.
