Drive is seeking a dynamic Director of Copywriting who is comfortable guiding creative teams, coaching for improvement and has proven leadership skills. This individual will be the direct report over the entire copy team in all three of Drive’s locations, St. Louis, Nashville, and Miami.

This person will oversee the Copywriters to coach and train on marketing strategy created by the Director of Strategy. He or she will coach Copywriters on client strategy from inception to final product and ensures that their quality of content and style is meeting the client’s marketing strategies and objectives. Training the Copy team on how to move forward and be strategic in solving creative issues with the client while enhancing the client’s confidence in Drive.

He or she will oversee the quality of content, auditing copy work on a weekly basis, providing coaching and ongoing education to help our copywriters push the envelope of creativity, while also sticking to the client’s value and the reason they are with Drive.

The goal is to achieve the best possible outcome of our projects both visually and essentially to meet client expectations and drive our sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

    • Direct and motivate teams of copywriters to help them use their talents effectively
    • Train and guide creative copy team into accomplished professionals
    • Lead brainstorming/creative sessions to generate ideas
    • Audit, Critique and direct revision of creative work on a weekly basis
    • Monitor results of team efforts and propose actions for the future

Qualifications

    • Proven experience as a creative director or in a similar creative role
    • Hand-on experience in creative process, marketing, graphic design and brand development
    • Excellent working knowledge of software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.
    • Outstanding leadership and organization skills
    • Exemplary interpersonal and analytical abilities
    • Short and long term writing experience
    • BS/BA in advertising, journalism or relevant field
    • Agency preferred experience
