The Role

DueDil is looking for an experienced technical lead with a passion for leading by example and facilitating high performers / high potential individuals. You will lead our Site team with collaborative ownership of DueDil's enterprise platform and API products. The goal of the team is to:

Build high quality end-to-end web solutions. These deliver new insights and datasets for users of DueDil’s platform. This work is critical for achieving DueDil's vision and will involve close collaboration with our Product and Design team.
Maintain and extend a range of micro-services that back our products. Choosing appropriate technologies and architectures to ensure these products are performant and capable of scaling.

As an Experienced Leader we are looking for

    • At least 5 years commercial experience.
    • A proven track record in managing and leading an Agile engineering team to success.
    • Comfortable leading team members with different skill sets and technical areas of focus.
    • Consistency in providing a effective framework for success
    • Running agile ceremonies - Sprint planning, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives, Daily stand-ups.
    • Managing projects and timely delivery.
    • Being proactive resolution of impediments to delivery.
    • Fostering team alignment and commitment.
    • Seeking to reward and recognise great work.
    • Holding regular 1:1s with direct reports.
    • A passion for identifying and driving forward technical improvements.
    • Effective delegation
    • Familiarity with coaching is a plus

As a hands on Engineer we are looking for

    • Proven track record building modern web applications.
    • Expert knowledge in PHP and OO development.
    • Deep understanding of a PHP Framework such as Symfony.
    • Strong experience in writing testable, modular and extensible BE and code.
    • A keen eye for detail and passion working with huge amounts of data and a user-centric approach to feature delivery.
    • Familiarity on the DOM (HTML5/CSS/Javascript)
    • Familiarity with Unix systems, common command line tools e.g. grep and source control tools e.g. git
    • Familiarity of JavaScript and modern FE frameworks such as Webpack, react and redux a plus
    • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and GCP a plus
    • Experience in designing for optimal UI/UX a plus
    • Experience building RESTful APIs with OpenAPI / Swagger specification a plus
    • Familiarity working within an Agile SCRUM team a plus

Our Tech Stack

    • Symfony PHP Framework
    • Frontend technologies - React, Redux, Webpack
    • GraphQL - This is DueDil's unified data access layer written in PHP. This is backed by a number of upstream data stores - ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, Kafka and on-demand external APIs.
    • Microservices - Node, Python, PHP, etc
    • Microservices backed by Docker, K8s, GCP, AWS
