Create the future of travel with us

Whether it’s to visit the people closest to us, starting an exciting adventure, or a career-defining business trip, travel is an essential part of our lives. Yet we've all experienced the aches and pains of getting to our destination. Today, more than 4 billion airline passengers rely on technology that hasn't kept up with the expectations of the modern connected traveller.

That’s why we’ve started to rebuild the infrastructure that underpins the travel industry. We’re on a mission to unravel travel — simplifying systems and building the tools that will make the future of travel effortless.

We were part of Y Combinator S18's cohort and we are backed by Benchmark, Blossom, Index Ventures and Kima Ventures. A fantastic set of investors that has helped build some of the world's largest companies.

Our team in London is growing and we’re looking for talented people to join us on our journey.
Design at Duffel

We’re seeking an experienced, self-sufficient Product Designer to join us on a contract basis. In this stand-alone role, you’ll take full ownership of product design decisions, drive innovative solutions, and bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment and is eager to make a significant impact in a short timeframe.

What we're looking for in you:
Product design from concept through to delivery, including building new features from scratch and refining existing products.
Spearhead user research, validate user pain points, and ensure our products serve the needs of users.
Own the end-to-end design process—from ideation and wireframing through prototyping to hand-off and iteration—using Figma as your primary design tool.
Manage and prioritise workflows in Linear, ensuring design tasks are clearly defined and delivered on schedule.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, explaining design decisions and gathering feedback.
Required Experience and skills:
5+ years of hands-on product design experience,
Expert proficiency with Figma for UI/UX design and prototyping, and experience using Linear for project and ticket management.
Track record of designing for both desktop and mobile web platforms.
Strong visual, interaction, and systems design skills, with fluency in typography and data visualisation fundamentals.
Working knowledge of CSS & JavaScript—not necessarily to build production-ready code, but to collaborate seamlessly with engineers.
Demonstrated ability to independently absorb new domains, especially in fast-moving startup and SaaS environments. Previous experience in the travel or broader SaaS sectors is a strong plus.
Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—with the ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.
Comfortable with ambiguity, autonomy, and rapid iteration, making confident decisions and driving projects forward without constant oversight.
Ideal Profile:
A versatile designer with a generalist mindset, equally happy tackling UX challenges and polishing UI details.
Proactive and self-motivated, ready to take initiative and full accountability for design outcomes.
Comfortable working independently in hybrid, startup setting where flexibility and adaptability are essential.
Passionate about creating intuitive, delightful user experiences across diverse personas.

What you can expect from us:
We're dedicated to your personal growth. Our environment is comfortable both physically, but also in that our ears are always open to any ideas, concerns and questions. We believe that everyone should have pride in their work, taking full ownership of it and its impact. That's why everyone who joins Duffel owns a share of the company.

*We are an equal opportunities employer. We believe that the key to our success is employing a diverse team, that's why recruitment decisions are only based on your experience and skills. We value your ability to problem solve and build amazing things so we welcome applications for everyone – regardless of age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief.*
