Manages the planning, execution, control and closure of individual construction projects  to ensure organizational needs are met.

Interacts with clients, contractors and designers to determine project requirements; negotiates contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders to ensure that all project goals are being addressed.

Develops and maintains construction project schedules, budgets, performance metrics, status reports and customer submittals to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.

Oversees project costs and performance to ensure compliance with all contract terms, building codes and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

    • Analyse drawings and other documents to prepare cutting list and materials orders
    • Provide assessment & cost effectiveness of products
    • Provide sales support to Sales on various building products to meet client’s requirements.
    • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers in conjunction with the Supply Chain & Logistics Department
    • Prepare, update and maintain project tracking & issues lists
    • Promptly respond to customer enquiries regarding lead time and proactively monitor status or order in progress in conjunction with the customer experience team’s requirements
    • Continually seek to identify & minimize areas of risk and/or waste
    • Work with all stakeholders to complete production and project charter outlining scope, goals and deliverables, required resources, budget and timing
    • Ensure OHS&E policies & guidelines are carried out
    • Holding weekly project meetings orchestrating all projects requirements and specifications
    • Provide feedback to design departments and provide value engineering suggestions and oversight
    • Ensure Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and costs are allocated and charged to correctly with assistance from the finance department
    • Provide leadership with direct reports and cross functional team members
    • Issue time bound tasks and goals to direct reports
    • Provide constructive feedback to cross functional teams and team members where applicable
    • Develop a strong network of industry suppliers & subcontractors in conjunction with the Supply Chain & Logistics Department
    • Work with other departments in the business to ensure overall performance is consistent with Dvele’s targets & priorities

Qualifications & Experience

    • Degree in project management or PMI accreditation preferred
    • Trade certification
    • Degree holder in an Engineering discipline with 8-12 years working experience in engineering/manufacturing
    • Business management / process administration degree or training certification an advantage
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to read architectural drawings
    • Excellent computer skills (G-suite, CAD, slack, specialized application use and management, BIM 360)
    • Fast paced manufacturing environment
    • Management of multiple projects simultaneously
    • Start up environment experience an advantage
    • Manufacturing production on large scale
    • Management oversight of labor force from 100+ personnel
    • Project value management of project $2mm +
    • Management of annual project costs $40mm +
    • Previous experience in modular home fabrication, estimation and customer service/sales is an advantage but not a requirement
