Role Overview
The Eastern Communications Ltd. Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in driving our organization's financial insights and decision-making. In this role, you will report to the Controller daily and will be primarily responsible for working in the ERP system with oversight of general ledger transactions, preparation and review of financial statements, and complex accounting issues as they arise. Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Month-End Close Process - Lead and support the accounting team in the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries (e.g., cash, accruals, fixed assets), reconciliation of general ledger accounts, and other necessary adjustments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay Oversight- Play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the Finance function, including accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable. 
    • Sales Tax Compliance - Assist the finance team with the preparation and filing of sales tax returns across multiple states. Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and filing deadlines across applicable jurisdictions.
    • Internal Controls and Procedures- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies. Ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work collaboratively with internal departments to understand operational processes and identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
    • Facilities and Inventory Support - Provide financial oversight and support to facilities coordinators across various service centers. Assist with inventory tracking, reconciliation, and reporting to ensure accurate valuation and control.
    • Audit Coordination - Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Prepare audit schedules, respond to audit inquiries, and ensure the timely and successful completion of annual financial audits.
    • Financial Reporting – Preparation of financial reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
    • 5+ years of accounting experience preferred
    • NetSuite experience preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to research and resolve technical accounting issues
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Willingness to be in the office (3 days a week/minimum)
    • CPA preferred

$65,000 - $95,000 a year
Expected salary range does not include benefits or bonus.
