The Human Resources Business Partner is essential to driving our people strategy and ensuring business success. In this role, reporting directly to the Manager of People Experience, you will play a key part in shaping our talent approach and cultivating a dynamic, inclusive, and growth-focused work environment. Serving as the main HR contact for both employees and managers, you’ll handle HR-related questions while supporting strategic initiatives that advance the company’s mission. This position combines hands-on HR expertise with strategic thinking, ensuring Lightcast’s people strategies align with business goals and our distinct culture.

Major Responsibilities:

    • Employee & Leadership Support: Serve as the main HR contact, and SME (Subject Matter Expert) for employee and manager inquiries, resolving issues promptly and professionally to enhance the employee experience. Provide guidance to Managers on HR policies, benefits, and procedures to foster transparency and trust.
    • Support HR Strategy & Leadership: Collaborate with HR and Business Unit Leadership to develop and implement key HR & employee strategies that align with organizational goals and long-term growth. Utilize business insights to create tailored employee solutions.
    • Talent Acquisition Support: Ensure all necessary approvals are secured before a position is submitted for recruitment. These critical steps include reviewing job descriptions to ensure they accurately reflect the role, aligning titles, responsibilities and level with compensation guidelines, and lead the executive-level approval process within the ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
    • Cultural Transformation and Change Leader: Champion Lightcast’s mission, vision, and values in every interaction, leading initiatives that drive cultural transformation and promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and innovation. Collaborate with business leaders to execute impactful organizational change and foster continuous improvement across the company.
    • Performance Management: Lead and Manage the bi-annual, co-wide,  performance management cycle, ensuring fair and transparent evaluations, while being the primary contact for leadership training, education and support. Lead calibration sessions to ensure alignment across departments, nurturing a culture of continuous feedback, development, and improvement.
    • Process Improvement: Regularly assess and audit HR processes for efficiency, scalability and best practices. Advocate for and implement improvements within HR that help support organizational growth, and a seamless employee experience. Develop presentations and SOPs to create a robust resource library to guide leaders on appropriate processes, steps and timeframes to foster aligned scale..
    • KPI & Metric Support: Run, analyze and track key HR metrics, including employee retention, engagement, and experience data, guiding strategic HR initiatives, and needed pivots. Use insights to make data-driven recommendations that enhance organizational performance. 
    • HRIS Transactions: Oversee the timely and accurate processing of employee lifecycle events, such as promotions, title changes, job leveling, onboarding, and offboarding. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, establishing HR as a trusted business partner, while offering general HR support as needed.

    • Skilled in conducting comprehensive needs assessments and implementing organizational design and development initiatives.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with an emphasis on well-researched, strategic outcomes.
    • Demonstrated experience in a highly collaborative, global environment, with the ability to work across departments and geographies.
    • Thorough knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance, ensuring regulatory adherence across all HR processes.
    • Proficiency in HR systems (e.g., UKG, Lever ATS) and business technology tools (Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite).

Education and Experience:

    • Four plus (4+) years of HR generalist experience, including 1+ year in a Business Partner role required.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment, preferably in the tech space, is preferred.
    • Expertise in HR technology platforms, including experience in creating/ running reports and analyzing data using systems such as UKG, Lever, and business tools like Google Suite (Sheets and Slides)  and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint).
    • Deep understanding of HR metrics, with a focus on driving continuous improvement, backed by data. 
    • Detail-oriented and proactive in driving improvements through collaborative design and development initiatives.
    • Strategic, big-picture thinker with a positive and collaborative mentality
    • Strong professional presence and ability to connect, relate and influence, while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
    • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance, with focus on continuous learning.
    • Skilled in needs assessment to identify gaps in HR processes for efficiency, scalability, and best practices.
