Our clients use Lightcast data to solve a variety of problems: align programs with regional needs, equip students with career visions, understand regional economic and workforce activity, and find and hire the right talent. We are looking for a thoughtful, data-driven, customer-focused engineer to manage, develop and sequence projects on Nova™. As Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible to build and implement functional programs. You will work with other Developers and Product Managers throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. If you also have experience in Agile frameworks and popular coding languages (e.g. JavaScript), we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to build efficient programs and systems that serve user needs.

Primary Responsibilities
• Should have knowledge in SDLC, Agile development practices
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
• Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications including automation of testing.
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
• Translate the requirements into application design/code
• Design and develop the C# and Java applications (Microsoft SQL Server, GIT, Python, Scripting languages, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Snowflake, AWS, S3)
• Code/Data review, Willing to take ownership and responsibility within the team.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering related technical field, advanced degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 - 5 years of direct hands-on engineering development/services experience across a wide range of technologies
• Interest in working with a team that values testing.
Proficiencies
• Experience in Agile frameworks and popular coding languages (e.g. JavaScript),
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, server-side scripting tools, or similar tools.
• Experience with Java or C#.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with SQL and various Data Base tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, engineering diagrams, and listening skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
