e.construct designs structures such as bridges, high-rise design, commercial facilities design, precast concrete engineering, and post-tensioning design. We are a multi-disciplinary engineering design firm with specialized design and value engineering services.  The firm's core work is holistic at its approach, and it has divisions in structural, MEP, Geotechnical, and emerging construction technology such as 3D printing of concrete, technology, and 3D laser scanning.


The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for producing high-quality structural designs in compliance with company standards and project requirements. This role requires independently solving basic engineering problems, verifying software output accuracy, and coordinating tasks within deadlines. The engineer also supports junior team members, provides technical guidance, and contributes to the technical integrity and efficiency of assigned components in larger projects.

Responsibilities:

    • Prepare structural calculations and technical drawings in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and internal procedures.
    • Follow company processes to ensure consistent and accurate deliverables across assigned tasks.
    • Cross-verify software results (e.g., FEM tools) with manual calculations to ensure accuracy.
    • Solve basic engineering problems independently by applying established guidelines and theoretical knowledge.
    • Coordinate with team members to align work plans, meet deadlines, and support project workflow.
    • Organize and manage tasks related to smaller assignments or components of larger projects.
    • Contribute to internal technical discussions and suggest design or process improvements.
    • Prepare sections of technical reports and participate in client or internal presentations as required.
    • Provides informal guidance to junior engineers or BIM/drafting team members to ensure compliance with standards.
    • Supports team collaboration by mentoring less experienced colleagues and contributing to an inclusive, high-performing team environment.
    • May oversee small task teams or portions of a project, with responsibility for quality, scheduling, and coordination under senior oversight.
    • Demonstrates professionalism, strong communication, and collaboration skills in team settings.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
    • 5–7 years of experience working as a junior structural engineer within a consultancy firm.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a high level of professionalism.
    • Solid theoretical engineering knowledge, complemented by some practical experience.
    • Able to independently handle tasks, subject to final review.
    • Occasionally able to attend client meetings as a representative of the team.
    • Capable of using sound judgment to solve problems based on established engineering guidelines and procedures.
    • Open-minded and able to follow instructions while working under close supervision.
    • Well-organized, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Creative, self-motivated, and commercially aware.
    • Effective team player in a collaborative work environment.
    • Skilled at managing priorities and demonstrating strong time management.
