e.construct designs structures such as bridges, high-rise design, commercial facilities design, precast concrete engineering, and post-tensioning design. We are a multi-disciplinary engineering design firm with specialized design and value engineering services. The firm's core work is holistic at its approach, and it has divisions in structural, MEP, Geotechnical, and emerging construction technology such as 3D printing of concrete, technology, and 3D laser scanning.
Role Summary
We are looking for a senior structural engineer to help lead a team in the Value Engineering division that specializes in value engineering high-performance buildings. The candidate should have extensive experience in the industry and ideally have had some experience with research institutions or academia. The candidate should be able to bridge between experimental and novel systems/research and traditional industry needs. This requires both a solid understanding of structural fundamentals and experience with complex projects including, high rise design to be able to fill this role. Diverse experience with various structural systems such as precast, post-tension, structural steel is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Work with a growing team to direct analysis and design of structural systems for buildings.
- Provide direction, coordination, planning, and completion of engineering projects.
- Plan and formulate engineering programs and organize project staff according to project requirements. High-level design direction.
- Conduct value engineering and manage project design and deliverables as well as other design team members, and supervise the work of engineers and modelers.
- Work with e.construct’s other divisions such as building science, geotechnical, MEP specialists to create integrated design solutions for high performing, efficient buildings.
- Provide input to the computational team (iCon) on software tools for engineering automation and parametric design tools.
- Participate on existing and future e.construct engineering innovation developments such as UHPC, 3D concrete printing design, etc.
Requirements
- Degree (Master’s preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
- Strong technical skills.
- Working knowledge of current industry software, such as ETABS, RAM, Revit, AutoCAD, and other software.
- Ability to direct multiple projects at a time.
- Prior experience in managing and guiding engineers to efficiently produce calculations and sketches.
- Ability to think “outside the box” to provide creative solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 10 to 15 years of experience.
