Edera is seeking a systems-minded Rust Infrastructure & Systems Software Engineering to help build the secure-by-default foundations of container infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and supply chain integrity. This role is ideal for someone who lives at the intersection of secure systems, developer workflows, and low-level runtime internals, and who thrives in environments where correctness, composability, and automation are non-negotiable.

You’ll work on foundational tooling that supports reproducible pipelines, trusted build artifacts, and container infrastructure that integrates with cutting-edge security technologies. From test automation to release engineering to container internals, this role is about building confidence, at scale.

Key Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain Rust based infrastructure components that form the backbone of our CI/CD, testing, and release systems.
    • Design and implement secure build pipelines with verifiable provenance.
    • Champion test automation across layers, from isolated system tests to multi-node integration scenarios.
    • Contribute to container runtime and image builder tooling that interfaces with technologies like eBPF, and Linux distros.
    • Develop reusable and declarative test frameworks for validating infrastructure in real-world conditions (cloud, bare metal, virtualized).
    • Embed deeply with the systems team to ensure build, test, and release workflows are performant, reproducible, and secure by default.
    • Collaborate with Kubernetes, Rust, and Linux subsystems, and ensure compatibility across container orchestrators, kernel variants, and packaging formats.
    • Solve high-priority issues swiftly and effectively while maintaining clear and empathetic communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

    • Minimum 4 years of experience in systems, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles.
    • Fluency in Rust, with a strong emphasis on correctness, reliability, and safe systems design.
    • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bazel, or similar).
    • Solid understanding of containers, Linux namespaces, rootless technologies, and image formats.
    • Familiarity with The Update Framework (TUF) or similar secure update and supply chain tooling.
    • Demonstrated experience designing testable infrastructure and automating complex integration environments.
    • Bonus: Experience with Kubernetes internals, build reproducibility, image signing/verification, or systemd/bootstrapping stacks.
